  1. Yes, but I believe the umpire can advance/recall the runners at their discretion because these plays often end weirdly, with runners either continuing to run or stopping before they need to. But my recollection is hazy on this.
  2. Another day, another Wild Card opponent. Can the Cubs give the Diamondbacks the treatment they gave the Giants?
  3. Thank you all for your input, keep it coming! @Brandon Glick is writing this up so he may have more specific questions once he starts assembling all this information.
  4. Anybody get a screenshot of it? I haven't seen this ad at all, no sound on my end of things.
  5. The Cubs have made up some ground on Milwaukee, who has scuffled the past few days. The Cubs currently sit 2.5 GB of both the division lead and the Wild Card-leading Phillies.
  6. We're writing up a lengthy guide to Wrigley and need your input. Where do you like to sit? Where do you like to park or how do you prefer to get to the stadium? What food do you like at eat at the stadium? Where do you pre- or post-game around Wrigley? Have any other suggestions about the ballpark experience?
  7. A nice comeback win yesterday that salvaged a split against the Reds. The Cubs now have consecutive series against teams chasing them for a Wild Card spot so they can really secure their position over the next week.
  8. I think it’s no damage done. The Cubs split a series against a rival behind them. They have the two most immediate rivals behind them in the next two series. if you’re in a playoff spot, the goal is to keep the teams behind you at a stalemate or better. The Cubs held a stalemate, that’s a win. Now do it again.
  9. Nobody around me cares even a lick about baseball or even sports. It’s kind of funny, actually.
  10. Everything here has huge new fan vibes. De La Cruz is massive, he’s going to be beaten until he adjusts. No dude that huge is going to get through a season unscathed. Willson leaving the team was a good thing and the Cardinals are such an arrogant franchise to anyone viewing them objectively. Good, but also arrogant to the point of making massive blunders. Bellinger was a risk 29 teams should have taken and I said it at the time. You get credit for being a rational human being that has good baseball takes while the opposite is true of him.
  11. I’m having a pool party and was away from a TV for 20 minutes and…
  12. As a person who is immersed in many baseball communities across many teams, self-realizing statistical eccentricities is a very VERY rare thing.
  13. I think it's possible the Cubs may offer Bellinger the QO.
  14. Okay so it’s iOS chrome. I’ll try to replicate this locally, thanks.
  15. What does it look like, what are you seeing?
  16. A super-early start today. The Cubs really need this one to secure a series split with the Reds and keep chipping at their elimination number. At this point, are you cheering for the Brewers or the Phillies to win? The Phillies are a lot closer and the difference between the 3/4 seeds are basically non-existent.
  17. Welcome to NSBB, sorry it took so long to get your posts approved! You're clear to post without approval now, BTW.
  18. The ninth inning of game two was a real letdown but in the grand scheme of things, splitting a doubleheader with a team chasing you is a fine outcome.
  19. Even if it's a three run lead, Alzolay should stay in the bullpen. The win expectancy of a three run lead in the ninth is just shy of 97%; that's not a situation you use your closer on a normal day, much less a doubleheader.
