  1. that was apretty good throw. cameron is fast and we don't have anyone that has a particularly strong arm.
  2. miller's got to know his goose is cooked. make sure he doesn't melt down even more, larry. don't let this game get away already.
  3. we should have gotten more that inning, maddux missed every spot he was aiming for.
  4. Hey dude, your avatar is huge and offensive http://adweek.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/cubs.jpg  gotta love the 3 post and doners.
  5. Booing Murton or Miller? i don't think they were booing murton.
  6. lee makes it look easy. and miller is done with the cubs.
  7. i don't understand the futility, the knicks are a talented team. they didn't play any better under brown last season, either. it's not just the coach--but it may be the GM. Talented, yes. Willing to play team basketball, buy into a program? Perhaps not so much. well, obviously something about the team is wrong--perhaps just poorly constructed. i still wish we had curry. if we get oden with the knicks' draft pick, i will rescind that statement.
  8. Not if they're going to stretch him out to start. Well thats true, but it remains to be seen. i wouldn't worry at all. the guy is dominating and needs to be stretched out. they wouldn't send him down so that he can languish in the AAA bullpen. i think that short of a shutout today, miller will be taken out of the rotation soon. i'm getting pretty excited about guz.
  9. ....is starting to blow up. the guy can play and it seems as if he's getting totally comfortable. i'm really looking forward to watching this guy's career, not against the cubs, though.

  11. I agree with all of this, though DeRosa has been playing pretty well. which is the problem. i like derosa, too.
  12. That's what a callup for an injured player is, a kick the tires situation. I don't think people are guaranteeing superstardom, rather they are expressing excitement to see a very talented player on the team. I hear the under-tone of "boy, hell come up and show himself as a wunderkind and be starting cf by the end of the month" I remember Bobby Hill and the excitement generated by his call up. I hope everyone is right and he is a great hitter and fielder. so, what you're saying is that it's all in your head?
  13. i like the idea of a murton, pie, soriano outfield. the idea of theriot at 2b is also growing on me.
  14. he's not making THAT much money for his production, really. He's making enough money so that teams will have to think twice about just adding him to their payroll. I'm not sure any teams other than the Yankees, Angels, Red Sox and Mets are in a position to simply add $5 million to their payroll without cutting costs elsewhere. it's not like we couldn't absorb a mil or two. 3-4 mil per would be a very fair deal for a guy coming off of a year that jones just had.
  15. I sure hope this isn't a mistake. Please don't letthis be Patterson all over again. P.S. Hey guys more good news Trent Meachum is staying at Illinois and not going pro. I mean both have the same chance at playing in the NBA anyways. lol. but what about chester, is chester staying?

  17. the point is that the runs are there and hopefully will be there this season.
  18. I expect Deng's contract to be very reasonable. I think Pax's plan has been to keep and pay Nocioni, Deng and Gordon all along. Adding Oden or Durant would complicate things down the road, but not for 3, 4 years -- and what a delicious problem to have. it's very likely we won't get close to being able to take him anyway, but it's nice to think about. if the bulls got the #1, i would declare it to be the greatest day in the history of chicago sports.
  19. good thing giles can't really hurt us anymore in this one.
  20. What, you'd keep Thabo at the expense of Nocioni? i realize having too much talent at a position is not a bad thing, but depriving durant of minutes can't be a good thing either.
  21. the difference being that deng will be wealthier than either of those 2 reasonably soon, and we could likely get more for him in a trade.
  22. You can always find playing time for a guy of Durant's ability. yeah, i'd have to say goodbye to deng in that case. Nocioni well before Deng, and Thabo well before Noc. no doubt, but isn't he gone anyway? edit: will you just let it go, man? because i won't when thabo blows up. :P
