he's done nothing but be consistently excellent over the course of his career and people are already turning on him. it doesn't make sense. but anyway, let's keep this about hill-imo, it would be a disserrvice right now to compare him to current barry zito.

lilly has been very good thus far. i think we have a pretty decent top 3 at this moment. marquis has looked good and guzman is dealing. and most of them are fairly young. optimism.

josh hamilton was no more a chicago cub than scottie pippen was a seattle supersonic.

see, i can't understand this kind of thinking. zambrano has yet to have a bad year in the majors and people are referring to him as a bum. he's one of the best pitchers in the bigs, maybe not over his last 4 starts, but over the last 4 years. unbelievable. hill's outpitched him for months. it's not even really close. i never said that hill didn't, i just object to people calling zambrano a "bum".

No. He's just not seeing that curve at all. he knows that hill is throwing it for strikes, knows that the ump is calling it, but still didn't swing at that last one, which was pretty close to take.

anybody notice that andruw jones didn't swing once during that plate appearance? do you think he has a game plan against the cubs or what?

i don't care what anyone says, i'll always root for sammy. he was out there putting on a show for the fans every day. Sammy was there for us Cubs fans when nobody else was... Real Cubs fans should be there for him now. seriously, during a game at wrigley back in 95 or 96, he sprints out of the dugout at the start of the game and every single fan down the right foul line stood up as he passed them. he proceded to take 6 balls out of his glove and toss them to fans in the right field bleachers. it was awe inspiring. that was a baseball player right there. He did that in KC after each inning. Then after the game the idiot ROyals fans threw them back at him in the 9th as a protest. You know cause he corked his bat. wow, what a bunch of jerks. i'm not a person who loves him blindly or makes excuses for what he's done or allegedly done, but he did a lot for baseball in chicago. we haven't done anything without him.
