  1. Not too surprising, I think even he got hacked a couple times during that comeback. the tears of all the haters still taste so very sweet, 3 1/2 years later.
  2. lute never recovered.
  3. i envision thabo as a doug christie type player if he reaches his potential.
  4. If we would still have Jamar I would have guessed us. Now, eh maybe Penn State. Might still be us. If it is us the Big Ten better get 3 bids. i think illinois could get there if they get the ball to brock more often, at times, he was the only guy who could create his own shot. if bruce was actually concerned about winning games and less about building character, the backcourt starters after b10 season starts would be: dmac legion brock and not.... dmac frazier meacham also, illini fans: mike tisdale is not a player. he is not, and never will be, any good.
  5. while illinois will be bad, at least until second semester and probably later, dmac is going to wreck shop.
  6. so seriously, can we start derrick rose every game, now? would that be okay? ps- i still like the beast but i may be willing to admit my mistake if he keeps winning games by himself for us.
  7. those 2 who? landry or flowers.
  8. hughes is more likely to make it than either of those 2.
  9. isn't that what i just said?
  10. dmac will be all big 10 first team. book it.
  11. Chasson Randle is a stud. He's a good kid too from what I've heard. yeah, i'm originally from the qc and i plan on driving down to visit family on game nights this winter.
  12. kind of sucks, i like brenly and all of the alternatives really really suck. have you heard grace on arizona broadcasts? he's terrible. sutcliffe is marginally better. stone is way worse than either of them combined. there is no one, we should make len do the games by himself, it would be entertaining.
  13. centers are pretty easy to replace.
  14. I still think the Bears need to draft a QB in the 1st half of the 09 draft, though. Maybe not 1st or 2nd round like we all suspected, but definitely by the 3rd. Grossman will likely be gone, and Hanie isn't a legit #2. as far as drafting another qb to fill the backup spot, i think that's unwarranted. i don't want to have to depend upon a rookie in any way if orton goes down. there will be plenty of veterans available before next season. At this point I'd be leaning heavily on drafting offensive line in the first again, unless a defensive playmaker slips to them. I definitely want a QB drafted, they should draft one at least every other year, but I'd be fine with waiting until Day 2 (which I believe is now rounds 3-7). Grossman might be gone, but I'm not sure how much demand there will be for his services elsewhere, and the Bears seem to like him and want him around. He still might play at some point this year, showing his value as a backup. If he left, however, I wouldn't have a problem going Orton, Hanie, Rookie in the depth chart. I don't see the point in going after mediocre veterans. Let potential future starters serve as backups. i'm fine with having a rookie 3rd string, but i think there should be a veteran ready to step in and play if the starter goes down. i'm not comfortable depending upon a first-year player on a playoff-caliber team. the year after that, the rookie third-stringer will be ready to move up to 2nd-string. i think orton's development was handled well, even if it wasn't meant to be. unlike grossman, he had time to sit back and learn.
  15. i think any school is going to have a hard time getting the top kids out of illinois now that weber has decided to get in on them early. blackshear in 11 will probably NOT be in champaign, but there's so much talent in that class it's ridiculous. i think illinois gets mike shaw, sam thompson, chasson randle, and tracy abrams out of that group. michael chandler would be nice to add to it as well. i just hope blackshear doesn't get to ku. i don't see him in o and b, because i think he's a little intimidated by all of the guards at illinois. i guess that should mean we don't want him anyway, but he good, he real good.
  16. Orton definitely could be a legit NFL QB. Heck, he probably already is. I think Grossman is a legit NFL QB too, though. The key with Orton will be eliminating the bad games when defenses put a lot of heat on him and good designed coverage schemes. I still think the Bears need to draft a QB in the 1st half of the 09 draft, though. Maybe not 1st or 2nd round like we all suspected, but definitely by the 3rd. Grossman will likely be gone, and Hanie isn't a legit #2. the key difference between grossman and orton is how they react when the pocket collapses. while orton shoots through the hole and steps up, thus giving him another shot to hit a receiver down field, grossman backpedals, thus forcing a throw off his back foot---generally winding up in an interception. that's really all i see, but it's a huuuuuuuuuuge difference and why orton has been so successful and grossman so inconsistent. as far as drafting another qb to fill the backup spot, i think that's unwarranted. i don't want to have to depend upon a rookie in any way if orton goes down. there will be plenty of veterans available before next season. we need to fix the o-line, patch some holes on the defense and go from there.
  17. the bears deserved to win a game like that. they've been screwed 3 weeks in which they lost close games.
  18. wow, right through. that would have been good from 59.
  19. no chance here for gould, even from 49.
  20. we have no cornerbacks. here's where the vikings would throw two quick passes downfield and score, where we'll do nothing.
  21. i sense another heartbreaking loss. this team is predictbale, not in that they'll lose, but they'll make you think you have a shot up until the last second.
  22. there's the d!!!!!!!!!!!! having peanut and vasher out sucks but we can get the other guys some meaningful minutes.
  23. big break, there. seems like the first time the ball has bounced our way in some time.
  24. nice play by roberto garza to save an int.
  25. sharper you a-hole, you just saved a td.
