  1. 1. so you were wrong, eh? of course you were. 2. hardly, now that i think about it, woolridge isn't nearly in mccamey's league. mccamey is a big guard that will play in the nba after being drafted by a nba team. and illinois has had several players on one team that were better than mccamey. dean oliver? lmfao, nope. tyler smith quickly realized that he played for iowa and to avoid embarassment, transferred to a school with even less basketball tradition than iowa. 3. i never called illinois a "basketball school", although they probably should abandon the illusion of a football program. by the way, who won the last football game? who last played in the rose bowl? won an outright conference championship?
  2. He's also a huge vagina. Lay down on the floor to get a whistle and immediately when they blow it he gets up and walks around perfectly fine and stays in the game. If you have to draw an injury whistle you should have to come out of the game. Whatever, credit to Illini fans for showing up and taking away any homecourt advantage. Now I know what it feels like to be a Minnesota or Northwestern football fan. But damn that was the most annoying game I've ever attended. At least I can take solace in the fact that Illinois is a basketball school that will have gone 5 years without winning a tournament game. And you have a football coach who can't do anything but recruit and he's not even good at that anymore. iowa hasn't had a player like mccamey in 20 years. irrelevant programs don't have players like him. He's good but he's also a vagina. Woolridge was better. Dean Oliver was close. Tyler Smith was more talented. The problem you're missing is that Illinois is a basketball school. A basketball school with a basketball team that's been irrelevant for almost 5 years now. You're looking at 5-6 years without winning an NCAA game. And your football program is being led by a guy who is a punchline nationally and can't even recruit anymore. almost 5 years now? we haven't won a tourney game in 3 years, going on 4, not "5-6". but i guess it's better than not making the tournament at all and being one of the worst teams in the big ten year-after-year. how far the hawkeyes have fallen from the golden years of tom davis and his 3 straight tournament appearances. andre woolrdige, maybe, dean oliver, bwahaha, tyler smith doesn't play for iowa, or, i guess anyone anymore. any good player the hawkeyes get has something unspeakably terrible happen to the people they love, coincidence? and last time i checked, this was the basketball thread, i'll uh, meet you right over in the football thread if you want. you can go first, chief.
  3. that's pretty much exactly it.
  4. that team shot almost 50% from the field, i'd hardly regard them as chuckers.

  6. your players are all a bunch of godless chuckers and your coach will never be able to win at a high level because his system is inherently geared to play like an underdog, even against teams they are clearly better than, which aren't many. our players are young and lazy and some of them bad. i have no idea why they kept collapsing on defense, but at least they aren't [expletive] chuckers.
  7. we'll be lucky to get another point the rest of the way. this team has given up, san jose is skating away from us, i sense a playoff flop. i hate my teams, i hate them, and, oh yeah, this only happens to them
  8. st. louis at home cannot happen. cannot happen.
  9. so depressing. win, you animals.
  10. can't wait to see how badly we get brutalized on this pp.
  11. playing the hawkeyes' game.
  12. and on another channel, the illini are blowing the game against iowa. going for a triple threat!
  13. we are going to lose to iowa.
  14. they look pathetic and this always happens. what happened to the good hawks? i want those guys back.
  15. this team is just not good. better hang on, guys. good thing we have the olympic break because this team is coming back to earth and isn't one of the top teams in the league anymore.
  16. we just don't look good anymore.
  17. bunch of gutless chucking and lucky bounces thus far for iowa. i'm not surprised.
  18. illinois didn't do too bad for replacing their offensive staff this offseason. 10 3-star and 2 4-star guys. wish we have kept corey cooper but we picked up earnest thomas, who was a ucla commit.
  19. lol, like anyone cares to talk about anthony morrow. at least try to distract people with something that anyone cares about.
  20. this team is [expletive] weird and will never go anywhere without one of the big fa's out there, i hope it has been realized.
  21. new york is pretty rad.
  22. espn still insisting that martz was the OC for the niners in 09.
  23. yeah, dude. make it a little less transparent.
  24. I don't understand what you're saying here. Are you saying they're allowed to offer him whatever they want regardless of a cap? Because otherwise there's nothing stopping them from offering more than any other team so long as it fits into what they can afford or it keeps them under a cap (if they so wish to be). they can, kind of, they're called bird rights. but i think bird rights are generally more useful if a team is over the cap and trying to sign one of their free agents. as far as i can tell, lebron will make no more in cleveland in 2010 than he would anywhere else. they CAN offer something like a 2.5% raise over what other teams can and they can also offer a 6th year. however, i have learned that lebron's new team will have bird rights to lebron after 3 years, meaning that they can offer him the same raise that the cavs can, giving the cavs only a 2.5% advantage in years 2 and 3 of the contract. bird rights don't really affect this situation.
