  1. and how are guys who are better at basketball more likely to get in trouble? that doesn't make sense.
  2. No wrongdoing on the part of Calipari there. He makes no qualms about what college basketball is about: winning games and making money. So he recuits the types of players that can do that for him, guys that are more likely to get in trouble, but that doesn't mean Calipari is doing anything wrong. yeah, eddie sutton didn't do anything wrong at kentucky, either. what a [expletive] joke. despicable.
  3. how about the last two schools he's been at have been hit with sanctions while he had his foot out the door? not to mention memphis having to forfeit every single win in one year. cal is as filthy as they come.
  4. So what exactly did Cal come up with that changed his mind so quickly? What a farce this guy is making of the NCAA. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/2010-04-27-ncaa-president-emmert_N.htm woops! Won't matter. Coach Cal is untouchable. The talking heads at ESPN don't even go after him. I get he's Italian and thus Vitale is in love with him, but what about Bilas and Gotlieb? Why can't these guys even question him? cal is untouchable but kentucky is the most penalized program in the history of the ncaa. they, most certainly, are not.

  6. that's about as dumb as the piece that mentioned bruce pearl as a possible candidate for the illini job after self left.
  7. i hope this means that calipari is one step closer to netting uk the death penalty, but the ncaa doesn't do that.
  8. it wasn't mean spirited sarcastic, but it WAS sarcastic. who gets all happy for a guy hitting .275?
  9. Shawon had a cannon. yeah, he could throw it 100mph into the 1st base side stands I was very young at the time, but I remember someone telling me that the Cubs drafted the best available arm but he happened to be a SS instead of a pitcher. nothing available about it. everyone was available at the time shawon was picked. he would also needlessly take about 8 steps before throwing it so he could show his arm off on a routine play. grace never had the balls to tell him.
  10. like i said, blanton's not a guy you have to wear down. he's b [expletive] p and those guys have to get ahead in the count to have any kind of hope.
  11. i like the fact that he can hit the ball where it's pitched and not pull everything like an animal.
  12. We're just lulling him into a false sense of security. doesn't matter, he's not a guy that you have to stretch out to get to.
  13. it's unfair if a guy can throw that hard with stuff that filthy and not get hurt. we'll see how he holds up throwing 200 innings per year.
  14. i just hope he plays like he used to.
  15. both men seem like total nutsacks, though.
  16. i think that was warp's crew
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCQuktCr_wQ&feature=related
  18. i don't think the ladd goal was as soft as people are making it out to be. ladd let it fly at the exact right time, late enough to not get blocked, and early enough so as to not allow nabokov to pick it up. i don't think nabby ever saw it.
  19. you're thinking of the danish
  20. Seriously, I don't understand how people can think otherwise. add sprinters to the list. there's absolutely no way usain bolt isn't on something, he went from average to greatest of all-time real quick. michael phelps, too. actually, all athletes in general are under suspicion as far as i'm concerned.
  21. oh, and it's also not important to a baseball team to placate the meatball fans out there who want the sport to provide some sort of satisfaction to balance out their fantastically unfair lives.
  22. i caught that, too. what a douche. but i do appreciate barnaby comparing toews favorably to yzerman.
