  1. that makes me laugh, a lot
  2. he's obviously busy jinx-busting.
  3. like i said, i'm an every-4-year soccer fan, but is it legal to just knock a guy down like that when he's got a clear path to the goal?
  4. nice job brah!
  5. i don't know much about soccer, but it doesn't look like the US is getting dominated, does it?
  6. what the [expletive] was that?
  7. they are going to stick this corner
  8. he said awesomely true things like cezar izturis and ronny cedeno will anchor the middle-infield for a decade.
  9. that looked really easy.
  10. meatheads are jocks with no necks. meatballs are guys that want ditka to "coach the cubs". what you're talking about are meatballs. All meatheads are meatballs, but not all meatballs are meatheads. two unrelated species. if a meathead is, in fact, a meatball, it's totally coincidental. generally, meatheads don't think much about anything outside of their muscles and rape.
  11. i don't know. good question. i'm an every 4 year soccer fan and i always root for the USA, but i have a buddy from albania who actually DOES like soccer and he roots for italy because albania sucks at everything. I ask because a former co-worker (who is an all-around douche) likes to pretend that he's from England. He had the Union Jack hanging in his office, a big ben mini-statue, etc... and he puts the unnecessary "u" in words like color and favorite. He also calls potato chips "crisps" even though they were invented and named in the US. He was born and raised in california and his heritage is actually german... would you please punch him?

  13. they could have made that more subtle. "strikes", "soccerball"? come on, that doesn't take much imagination. where's that impeccably dry british wit? now let's get some runs!
  14. I know, probably will be banned but seriously, is it homerific to say the hawks won the stanley cup this year? In a pure student of Stoicism way....No okay, let me rephrase that to make it a question of morality: is it right to say the hawks won the stanley cup this year?
  15. i will be watching the game. they just better [expletive] SCORE, MAN! USA USA USA!
  16. I promise, it's harder than it looks to be. if dave bolland can methodically knock a tiny puck off the skate of a goalie into the back of a tiny tiny goal with a stick in the time it takes one to blink while skating on a sheet of ice behind the goal and wearing bulky and awkward padding, some dude not wearing ice skates should be able to settle a ball RIGHT IN FRONT and put it into the back of a goal the size of a short bus without falling all over himself and totally screwing it up. maybe soccer players in general aren't good enough at their sport and need to practice more. maybe they should postpone the world cup until players can do that. You've obviously never kicked anything. is ass considered anything?

  18. i don't think losing buff or ladd is a big deal considering what they could bring us. i would like to keep kopecky, though. none of the players mentioned as gone would be that big of a blow to this team. i don't think we'll let go of sharp, and now i'm kind of even believing we can keep versteeg, but again, losing him wouldn't be a huge deal. we just have to keep the core and shuffle good players in and out. that's what any team is faced with, although not many teams have cores as young and as good as ours.
  19. excellent analysis or wishful homerism? you tell me. detroit fans have the market cornered on wishful homerism and should probably be able to recognize it when they see it. time to go off and tell your brethren how much the hawks are going to suck next year so you can sleep tonight.

  21. aren't professional soccer players supposed to be able to put the ball on goal? this has been a carnival of errors. nigeria can't get out of their own way. point blank in front of the goal and the guy pops it up.

  23. i like burish because he's from madison and he's hilarious. if he will play for beer, keep him.
