  1. historically, he hasn't been an offseason workout warrior. things have changed, but i don't know how much.
  2. i already said that.
  3. and he knows that franklin is gutless and won't come in at all. just try to drive the ball to right
  4. i believe him, i think we get a high seed and win the big ten
  5. kentucky is a semi-literate state and they're spending their entire budget on a basketball coach. of course they're cheating. although probably not as much as usc football.
  6. if illinois was dirty, they're not doing it right. please don't even put them in the same conversation as kentucky and kansas. although the gap between those 2 schools is growing every day.
  7. uk has a good formula for weighting obp when configuring true ops.
  8. Colvin needs to have this beaten into him then. hopefully, it will come. but i don't think anyone's convinced he can keep it up. if he does, eventually, they will start respecting him.
  9. i'd rather the player have power. patience will come after he murders pitchers consistently and they start pitching around him.
  10. well...you know....starting goalie. i know but a week or two ago we had 6 spots to fill and we've signed a handful of guys since then so i didnt know if niemi was the only piece left or if we had a few other slots open still i think it's technically 4, but really 5 because huet doesn't count.
  11. i think alexander would be a great pickup as a possession receiver-type. his lack of speed can be compensated for by guys like knox and hester. they stretch the field so the slower guys like him have more room to make catches.
  12. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/2528230,ted-lilly-trade-talks-cubs-072310.article get somebody decent you idiots
  13. bickell has signed a 3-year deal with us but i haven't heard for how much.
  14. i also don't understand why people at sch want to dump kopecky so bad. i kind of fell in love with kopecky in the playoffs, that guy has some magic to his game, plus he's big and kind of a horse's ass on the ice. i like how he was one of the guys who got in pronger's face with some bad slovakian breath and the image of him talking [expletive] to a half-conscious carcillo makes me smile. he's hossa's designated friend, too, which is a bonus. all-in-all, he's a big player that has a few tricks and a mean streak. he's an adequate replacement for ladd.
  15. if either bolland or sharp are gone, i will be absolutely shocked. if dowell makes the team it will be as the 4th line center, which wouldn't be bad, he's even cheaper than taffe if that's possible. Sorry if I wasn't clear -- I meant whether or not Sharp is a center or a wing. Meaning, whether Sharp centers the second line with Bolland on the third, or if Bolland is on the second. There's no way that Sharp or Bolland are going anywhere. okay, that makes sense. if the second line went sharp/bolland/hossa, that would be fine with me, 2 kick-ass lines are nice. although i like the idea of having 3 solid lines as well. q will probably micro-manage during the season and find a comfort level, i imagine. just as long as we have room to experiment in the playoffs. the sharks are a team that is top-heavy and has great success in the regular season being that way, but in the playoffs, you have to be able to find the right match-ups and mix it up.

  17. i think moving reasoner clears the way for beach, actually. gives a little more room, but really downgrades the 4th line center position, which i guess isn't the worst thing that could happen.
