  1. You should not be carrying two defenses is what you should be doing. Ravens. i'm in a 12 man league and having those 2 defenses is something i value more than being able to carry laurence [expletive] maroney.
  2. so, does anyone think that malcolm jenkins is better than vontae davis now?
  3. should i start the ravens against the browns or the dolphins against the jets?
  4. jewell is a girl that sings about various things.
  5. it's funny how he just keeps that creepy grin and won't look at any of the guys directly while security is trying to forcibly yank the helmet out of his hands.
  6. when the game is over are the players considered off the clock? because then i would see it as permissible. it should really be up to individual teams though. alcohol in the clubhouse can actually help a team relax if it's full of people that aren't raging alcoholics.
  7. pure arm strength, it's close, although rex needs his legs underneath him to compare.
  8. jay cutler is what we all hoped that rex grossman would be. i'd say as far as arm strength, cutler has a slight edge although rex has a monster arm as well. the two key differences are 1. cutler's legs, he is as fast as any qb not named vick, and 2. his pocket awareness, which is probably more important. for example, on knox's 59 yard catch, cutler does what rex did not, he stepped up. rex would have tip-toed back and either gotten hit hard, or tossed up an incompletion or an INT. 3. he also doesn't get those wide, koala bear-eyes and he's not afraid to go up to his line and give them an earful, subjegating kreutz, who has routinely dominated his quarterbacks. in short, he knows how to handle the veteran red-assed center and that's super important.
  9. Buddy of mine didn't start Gore in ffb this week because "he didn't like the matchup". He started Brandon Jackson and Deangelo Williams instead, and lost by less than 4 points to his wife's team....ouch. i started the ravens over the dolphins and the ravens had 3 points while the dolphins notched 24. if i hadn't won by 25 points i'd be sick. but i'm not implying that the vikings crapped the bed.
  10. i'm just wondering if he can hurl more insults at the bears while also insulting the saints at the same time.
  11. oh pearl, i can't wait for you to go away forever. north central may need a head coach soon, he should apply.
  12. You are reliving my 2006-2007. In 2006, Michigan and the Bears started the season a combined 18-0 (7-0 for the Bears, 11-0 for Michigan). Michigan ended up losing their last 2 games but went to the Rose Bowl, the Bears went 6-3 the rest of the way and of course went to the Super Bowl. Then starting next season, the Bears started out the season 2-4 and Michigan started their season out 0-2 with losses to FBS Appalacian State and a 38-0 home loss to Oregon. 01-02 for me.
  13. and sam thompson to ohio state. i was hoping he'd go somewhere far away, but whatever, he won't be evan turner.
  14. Couldn't happen to two better teams. Well, I'll concede I'd rather see Green Bay suck. But with Favre on the Vikings it's almost as good. However, given that I was at Illinois when the Pearl thing happened, I loathe Iowa with a passion. Yeah but you're an Illinois fan. You really shouldn't even speak about college football in public. Being an Illinois fan frees me from high expectations in football. It actually makes things much easier. Hahah, yeah. I find being an Illinois fan in general does that :) meh, i have some high expectations this year in basketball.

  16. a lot of teams have been essentially daring us to throw in that time and turner is the most predictable and vanilla coordinator in the history of the game. once cutler beats a few teams with his arm they will start to back off and open up some holes for forte and taylor. this will ultimately make the offense more productive. but even if the running game never fully gets going, it's like you always say, the NFL is a passing league.
  17. and what was witten yelling at the coaches about? i think everyone assumes he wanted back in, but his head hit so hard i wouldn't be surprised if he was just arguing for health care reform.
  18. i like the fact that we get green bay right after playing dallas, so we're still acclimated to a dynamic 3-4. i also like our d-line to get rodgers a few times, but with rodgers's poise, it often doesn't phase him at all. i think we win by 10.
  19. i like wade's defense, but it's really enigmatic. when it works, it works, when it doesn't, it gets abused. but the 3-4 is really hit or miss, imo.
  20. cowboys fans are a very special kind. but the excuses started last week. they lost because of alex barron, this week they lost because of team unity. how about they got beat by a better team?
  21. he had a knee injury i think
  22. in the martz offense, the screen is part of the run game. and the offensive line is holding it together ok. martz just puts more of a focus on pass-blocking, which was good enough to get the job done today.
  23. how about haynesworth and some cash for harris and a 5th or 6th rounder?
  24. and rackers is pretty good from long
  25. jason taylor can still play.
