    Maybe the end of Tim Wilken's free reign here. CCP would say that epstein has a lot of respect for wilken's work. i would say that mcleod is going to be doing that job, for all intents and purposes.

    I suggested he do that a couple days ago, only said Byrnes instead of Hoyer. So I'm really smart. i wonder what tim wilken is thinking right now. The reports were that Epstein has a lot of respect for Wilken so I'm not sure he would have any problem with this string of hires. well, hoyer apparently built that system out of nothing and mcleod is his scouting henchman, right?

    a great part about hoyer and macleod getting hired and announced now is that it totally shreds what little leverage boston has. they can't hold us hostage now.

    saying that the deal isn't close when everyone thought it was close just makes a bigger deal out of everything. it doesn't make sense why they'd do it.

    so, the deal is off and the red sox have balked? so, then we hire hoyer, have him start getting things in order, kenney technically handles the pres of baseball ops for another year, but hoyer is the czar. theo sits out for a year, and then takes over and we give nothing up? that doesn't sound too bad for us, but like a disaster for the red sox.

    This thread epitomizes all that is wrong with NSBB these days. Actually, it's all that is right and lots of the posters that made it awesome years ago are coming out of the woodwork. 90% of beerhere's posts include some sort of shot at what NSBB has become.
