    That's pretty funny. In my defense, though, we didn't sign a young, outsider GM. We signed a young, insider GM. :D I did like the "there are only so many Theo Epsteins" comment. I clearly didn't have any idea how awesome Ricketts really was. just hilarious to see what has actually transpired after speculating so much. we climbed the first mountain!

    They apparently think Winn represents a precedent for a high return. That's absolutely hilarious. Andy MacPhail is pretty much a perfect corollary here. The return was a non-descript A-ball pitcher. andy macphail is exactly the precedent. there's no way they can justify taking a major league player or a top prospect.

He goes out of his way to pick fights with all kinds of media members. i have been heckling him. his girlfriend sideline sports lady tweeted at me in his defense, but he hasn't answered. i'm sure he's got a lot of the same from other cub fans.

    Mike Murphy even trumped Rosenbloom last Saturday. I had the misfortune of hearing him rant how the hold up at the time was just yet another in a "long line of failures courtesy of Tom Ricketts. He then went on a rampage insisting that the "right way" to have handled this would have been for Ricketts to go to the Red Sox, ask for permission to talk to Theo, then offer them compensation and get them to agree to it...BEFORE HE EVEN TALKS TO EPSTEIN. oh, the guy with the terrible voice making that argument is Murphy? He's an absolute moron. his voice is worse than mike north's.
