yeah, not much better hire out there than miller.

the phognet crowd is being really nice and complimentary towards the illini program. one guy suggested that sean miller, according to "Reports" he's seen, is the leading candidate. you wouldn't think that miller makes much sense, but someone posted some of his wife's recent tweets, her allergies appear to be literally killing her. plus her family is in ohio and pittsburgh.

frank martin is another name i like. he's kind of the anti-weber, but his passion would endear him to illini fans the same as weber's clutzy stammering did.

after this shaka mess, i'm a bit short on patience. i don't really want to wait for buzz to lose, i'd rather just go get grant or miller right now.

mack is still on my list, after williams, grant, and miller. groce is 34-30 in the MAC at ohio. he's building the program and has improved in the last 2 years, but i'm not gaga. i like marshall, though he's a little old and reminds me of weber for some reason. if theus could bring jabari, i'd give him a shot, but only if it were a sure thing. want one of my top 3, though. i think any number of the next tier would kill for the illini job. i don't want to wait any longer for this program to gain their relevance back, though.

Ah yes, Gail Fischer, truly the Bob Woodward of our time. Yeah, that wouldn't make sense for anyone. He wouldn't even get a chance from the fans because of the Weber/Keady ties. He's got a nice gig at TN with no pressure and an AD with money. If he has success at UT (he's already landed his first 5 star) for a few years he'll be a hot commodity and can pick a better situation. Martin can go blank himself. He could have played for Illinois and didn't think we were good enough, same to you Chris Collins. cuonzo martin spurned illinois due to the ridiculous sanctions placed on us by the ncaa. he wanted to go there. as for collins, richard keene, a mcdonald's all-american, took the scholarship after it was offered to both. don't want martin and he won't want us.

what on earth are you talking about? if smart doesn't leave vcu then there's plenty of interested candidates that would work just fine. the best part about this is that there are about 3 guys that i would be orgasmic with getting, and are realistic choices. there are 3 others that would be excellent as well. i am now sold on grant, he's a hell of a consolation prize. he and williams are plans 1b and c. mack, marshall, and groce are the next tier but hot commodities nonetheless, bill self-like commodities. everything will be ok, even if we don't get shaka.
