  1. Hudson is terrible. I would have liked to have seen what Murton could do against him.
  2. What are the odds of scoring when you have a man on 2nd with no outs? It's over 50% if I remember correctly.
  3. Dusty going to the Don Baylor school of "cooling the hot hand". Someone please tell me why Hendry bothered calling up Cedeno, knowing Dusty's man-love for Neifi? He's the only backup SS. Macias is the backup 3rd baseman... I would have rather kept Enrique Wilson as the backup SS and left Cedeno in Iowa. Calling Cedeno up has only screwed with his progress. He may even regress if he sits long enough.
  4. Dusty going to the Don Baylor school of "cooling the hot hand". Someone please tell me why Hendry bothered calling up Cedeno, knowing Dusty's man-love for Neifi? Murton won't be starting against any RH anytime soon. The acquisition of lefty-batting Gerut makes it even less likely.
  5. No way Dusty benches Hollandsworth for another lefty-hitting outfielder.
  6. Why are people excited about Gerut's career .338 OBP? I don't get it.
  7. The only way I can see Gerut fitting into the OF is in a platoon with Hairston. Gerut bats lefty so he'll see the bulk of the time in a straight L/R platoon.
  8. Gerut is essentially another Hollandsworth but with less power(steroids?) and he's been struggling terribly since May. I know the organization doesn't like Hairston but Gerut is a really lame alternative.
  9. I would rather have had Preston Wilson over Gerut, and believe me I wanted nothing to do with Preston Wilson.
  10. He's gotten 12 at bats in the last 9 games. Even a veteran would lose his stroke playing that infrequently. That is not a fair platoon. He's only had 128 AB's on the season and he really only got regular starts over a 3 week stretch, and now he's on the brink of being dumped from the team. If every rookie on every team was discarded this quickly MLB would be overrun with 50 year old players. I don't get it. He's on the brink of being dumped from the team? Isn't that a little paranoid? I guess not. One last bump for the Dubois BandwaGone.
  11. I actually wanted Dubois traded because I considered him useless so long as Dusty Baker is here, but I don't understand the attraction to Gerut. How is he different from Hollandsworth? He is just another below average lefty-hitting corner outfielder. This only makes sense if Hollandsworth is traded. And couldn't we get more for Dubois than Gerut? Guys like Gerut grow on trees. We shouldn't have had to give up anything other than mid-level prospects.
  12. Yeah but he's facing a righty now. Apparently Dusty doesn't have the confidence to let him swing vs. a righty.
  13. I remember that kid in Teen Wolf was better during a full moon.
  14. I know you'll hate to read it, but this really coincides with Patterson being demoted and Hairston and Walker moving to 1/2. Not saying it caused it, but there is a correlation there. Regardless of numbers, the offense just feels a lot different with Hairston/Walker at the top. That Corey/Neifi thing was just depressing.
  15. I am too ethical to wish an injury on him but I would love an ejection, followed by a long suspension. yep im also too ethical to wish injuries on people. I would've loved to see him go after the ump though. lets go Jerome, DP ball here. Yeah, seeing Neifi shove an ump would be beautiful.
  16. I am too ethical to wish an injury on him but I would love an ejection, followed by a long suspension.
  17. Ronny Cedeno has been on the big league roster for a total of 40 games and he has 7 starts on the season. What a tragically stupid misuse of young talent. He could not possibly have been handled any more poorly. Hendry needs to wake up and get Ronny back to Iowa.
  18. Is this like when Rod Beck used to come into the game and the only way he could do well is if I yelled at the screen how much of a fat sweaty loser he was :?: A fat sweaty loser closer? That could be any number of Cubs greats. Let's see, Mel Rojas, Antonio Alfonseca.... ...... Joe Borowski - fat and sweaty.......Lee Smith.....just sweaty Lee Smith was also pudgy towards the end of his career.
  19. Hairston in CF is not the problem. I'd rather upgrade at LF and release Neifi.
  20. You've got Williams' name carved in stone in the 2006 rotation, but I doubt the Cubs do. If Hill and Williams are both around next spring they will compete for a spot, or at least I hope so. I will be very disappointed if Hill is converted into a LOOGY without a fair chance to earn a starting job.
  21. Farnsworth just looked like a typical dumb macho meathead, but Hernandez looked like a genuinely malicious character. Farns deserves a suspension but Hernandez deserves a really big one.
  22. I HATE having crappy switch hitters on the roster and a manager who adheres to rigid L/R tactics. Hendry needs to get rid of these types of players if Dusty is coming back next year.
  23. Huff has cooled down again. He hit a homer today but he came into the game in a 2-23 slump and his season numbers are still terrible. Huff may get his act together next season but if we want someone who can help this year I don't think Huff is it.
