Bryant's only gonna get one big contract so he should get as much as he can. Denver is a nice city and he's gonna mash at Coors. He's already got his World Series. Seems like a smart decision.

Think it's obvious now that the Cubs players should have accepted their completely fair offers a few years ago. Rizzo was offered 5/70 last Spring and signs for 2/32. People whine about the Ricketts' but the Cubs shouldn't have been forced to overpay their players for sentimental value. The Cubs got good prospects for their core and people should be happy they didn't overpay any of these players. Now they have to spend though.

It isn't prohibitive, but wasn't Schwindel at least as good as Rizzo post trade? Schwindel was like a top MLB player after the trade deadline

Remember that's Rizzo and his agent's perception of lowball. It's possible the Cubs ended up offering a fair(ish) deal compared to what he thought he was worth. Rizzo being unvaxxed might end up costing him too if New York decides to pass since he can't play at home and in Toronto. No way they're going to waste money on half a season of him.

Cubs should sign Freddie Freeman. He's the leader that can replace Rizzo without the back problems. Frontload his deal and give him what he wants and move Schwindel to DH. This seems too easy.

Montgomery is good, not great and paying running backs is dumb. Herbert showed he's more than capable of being an NFL starter when he played.

I've lost so much enthusiasm since last week. Think Poles seems like a good hire but I'm not high on Eberflus and this staff at all. And now Harbaugh is going to Minnesota and they're probably going to be awesome. I'm willing to give them a chance but I don't feel good about this at all.

Harbaugh to the Vikings sounds like it might happen. What a disaster, especially if he brings Fangio.

I stopped caring about press conferences awhile ago but this one is rough. Eberflus is using acronyms like he's Tim Beckman and using "Chicago tough". Hope this works out. Edit: I actually think Poles has been impressive
