  1. 7 other teams are in round 2 of their GM and head coach interviews. Take your time.
  2. Wasn't me but I thought the defense played well given their injury situation. The tackling was a complete mess and Eddie Jackson hasn't looked good since his 2nd season but I think the defense did enough to win that game. They just had no shot with the offense.
  3. They played bad teams, then they played good teams, then they played bad teams, then they finished with 2 good teams
  4. Has there ever been a trade involving someone as good as Yu Darvish where you can't figure out what the headliner is in return? Pretty sure even the trades that end poorly at least have a headliner coming back for the really good player. And the Cubs threw in Victor Caratini too if it wasn't bad enough.
  5. See the thing is, the Cubs are nowhere bad enough to tank. The NL Central is so bad that they can still actually compete assuming no other moves are made. I wish they were bad enough to tank again but they're likely gonna sit in the high 70's for wins and that's enough to keep them in the NL Central until the end. This move indicates to me, like I said, more moves are coming with the age of these prospects. While the NL Central may prop us up I still see picking top 7-10 on the horizon soon for a while. I mean, I would actually be slightly more relieved if this was actually the case. Because right now I'm envisioning them in Bears 8-8 hell for the next several years.

  7. I would have been completely fine if they got Campusano in a deal. Croenworth I wasn't much of a fan of but at least I get why they would bring him in because he was great last year. Not getting either is laughable. Not getting one top 10 prospect from their system is laughable. Caratini was a top 100 prospect a few years ago, not one of the prospects they got are in the top 100.
  8. I don't care if all 5 prospects hit, I'll just think they got lucky and I'll never stop thinking this is one of the worst MLB trades I've ever seen. The fact that Caratini is getting thrown in too is laughable. He's not far off from being a prospect himself and he'd be the best prospect of the bunch.
  9. Lol we trade the best pitcher in the NL last season and we can’t get a top 10 team prospect? And Victor Caratini apparently?
  10. Am I the only one that finds JD annoying? I liked him when he first got to Chicago but the last few years he's been close to unbearable to me especially when it comes to whining about the strike zone.
  11. Mitch will be a backup QB somewhere next year. He's just not good. The skills he's actually decent at (running), he doesn't utilize at all and he can't throw past 5 yards. Maybe he can provide a spark somewhere if a starter goes down but I'm guessing he's out of the league by 32.
  12. https://theathletic.com/2248839/2020/12/08/cubs-tv-len-kasper/ The Athletic mentions Joe Davis can't be dismissed as he grew up a Cubs fan (he'd be the best choice IMO)
  13. Ryan Pace should be fired tomorrow. I don't need to see them finish 8-8 and then be suckered into keeping him and they can get a head-start on replacing him. As far as Nagy, let the new GM decide on him after the season.
  14. The only person who I know definitely wouldn't be a big step down is Boog Sciambi. I'm sure there are folks I don't know who would be good, too, but Sciambi is the guy Marquee should be after here IMO. There are good announcers in MLB already that might flip from their local team to the Cubs much like Len did when he was with the Marlins.
  15. ?????????????????? Haven't you heard that the Cubs (and everything having to do with them) are totally broke? Guys are going to take less money to come to the Cubs because it's a dream job. If Chris Myers is the guy, he's a national voice and probably going to demand a good chunk of money.
  16. I like Len but if the Cubs were to replace him with someone other than Chris Myers, it would lessen the blow. They have their choice of literally any announcer in America. It's a dream job and money shouldn't be an issue here.
  17. I can't believe people think the suit thing matters
