    Does advancing the runner really matter that much in that situation? Aside from a WP or an infield single(not very likely with Ramirez up), anything that scores Pierre from 3rd would score him from 2nd. It matters. Sac flies are our friend. Sac flies with 2 outs?

    What will it take for Patterson to jump to AAA this year? He held his own at WT in the playoffs last year, and assuming he continues to dominate AA ball, couldn't he be promoted fairly quickly, maybe by midseason? .308/.378/.564/.942 and 6 of 7 stealing is not too shabby.

    Moreover, I think a lot of these people don't watch too many non-Cub games, and aren't fully aware of how many bad defensive catchers are out there.

    id be shocked if this ended up as a bargain. i think the best case scenario is it's a good deal at the beginning and then not horrible at the end but more than you'd like to pay. I think the odds are pretty good that Lee is still an above average 1B by the end of his deal. I think 13 mil is going to be fairly cheap for that level of production by '10.
