  1. In the midst of talking about what beasts Jones and McFadden are, I keep neglecting to mention what a beast Marcus Monk is. Let's get him out of the game, though, and rest those sore ribs if the Hogs score again here.
  2. So Arkansas won their opener versus SEMO, 92-52. Freshman SG Patrick Beverley, from many posters' neck of the woods in Chicago, scored 29 on 11 of 13 shooting, including 6 of 7 from 3 point range. I still think this team is a top 25 team and will be better than last season's, even with the loss of a fantastic player in Ronnie Brewer and two other double-digit scorers in Eric Ferguson and Jonathan Modica. A true drive-and-dish point and better outside shooters are a better complement to the extremely deep frontcourt than the slashers that contributed much of the scoring last season. The defense looks better, as well.
  3. LSU is to Alabama as Arkansas is to Tennessee, so far.
  4. I said this was a game after the Vols scored to make it 14-7. I may have fibbed. San Jose state is trying to make it a sure thing.
  5. A BEAST.
  6. McFadden with a touchdown pass to Damian Williams. This is unbelievably fun.
  7. http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/usc/sports/auto_action/usc-logo.jpg that, they did. . . . however, it wasn't the same Hog team. McFadden was 50% and we had a crappy QB. I'd love to see a USC / Arkansas rematch. It's still hard to argue with a 50-14 beatdown at home. Plus, McFadden and the QB don't play defense. No, but the three-and-out-fest left the defense on the field for far too long. It was a competitive game at the half that got out of hand because the defense was worn out and the offense had absolutely nothing.
  8. 6 for Tennessee. Very close to being 0 points for Tenn, and a very nice play gives them the score. Strong drive for the Vols. This is a game.
  9. Because if they win out, they're in the national title discussion. That's where it all stemmed. Nobody's talking about them going to #6 after the polls tomorrow, although with USC/Oregon still pending and three top 10 teams losing already, #7 is a possibility. ND, seriously kwitchurbeliakin. again, I am a fan, but do you honestly think your season has been any more impressive than say WV, Wisconsin or Wake? the Irish have made many an undeserved leapfrog in their day and the only reason they are where they are at right now is how severly over-ranked they were going into the season.
  10. not many teams have an All American for a backup RB :) Warpt, are you from Arkansas? Haven't we had this discussion before? NLR. Tennessee finally getting something going offensively.
  11. Felix Jones is also a beast. TOUCHDOWN MCFADDEN. This has the makings of a rout.
  12. Arkansas completely dominates the first quarter, especially on defense.
  13. Dick almost thows a pick to a wide-open Monk by floating it. But makes it up on the next play. XI points!
  14. Darren McFadden is a beast. Also, I love Malzahn. Quarterback gets hurt, so you bring in the backup...and LINE HIM UP AT WIDE RECEIVER.
  15. Hogs. Vols. IT'S ON, BABY!
  16. Soriano Zito Schmidt Lee Mats :pukel: I have no idea what this is. It's the board of FA's that the BBTN guys put up on Sportscenter. I wasn't even really paying attention and about 5 times I stopped and thought "hey, what he just said is completely false". That's what I get for not flipping over after the Rutgers-Louisville game. Ah, so it's an ESPN thing. I was trying to figure how a list of names was related to my annoyance at the mispronunciation of Daisuke's name.
  17. Soriano Zito Schmidt Lee Mats :pukel: I have no idea what this is.
  18. LOL-I was just thinking the same thing about Notre Dame, and it's the same list except of course that USC beats Cal, and Arkansas comes back from losing one of their last 3 games to beat Florida in the SEC title game, and either ND sneaks in front of Auburn or maybe Auburn would lose. Thinking the same thing, in Arkansas's case. I finally feel like Arkansas is high enough that winning out would finally get them ahead of Auburn--if they go in ranked 7 or so (likely since the current 7-9 fight amongst themselves the next two weeks, WVU plays Rutgers and has an inferior schedule), there's no way they end up behind the Auburn team the whooped in their own yard if they're that close. That would likely bring them up to around 5. Texas would have to lose vs. TA&M or Nebraska, which is quite possible, and Michigan or OSU would have to lose enough rep to fall more than one or two spots after their clash--a few unimpressive performances after the fact would help that cause. I'm weirded out at how non-impossible it is. Still extremely unlikely, but it sure is fun to be this close. Note also that I expect Louisville to fall to about 8-10 after the loss tonight, and Arkansas would pass them, like WVU, on the basis of equal losses and superior schedule. Note also also that it's really nice to have people considering what Arkansas does in their championship hopes. :D
  19. Watching ESPN...and already sick of hearing him called Die-SOOkie.
  20. A rotation in shambles last season with injuries, and he openly admits a "gamble". Arrogance. Pure Arrogance. ...do you know what the word "arrogance" means? Because it's not that. Not by a longshot.
  21. I would love to see a scenario in which Boise St. emerges as the only unbeaten.
  22. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Wow, that field is a mess.
  23. This is a really exciting game. Go Knights!
  24. no way. It is somewhat obvious that it is a "db" There are still people who are just first realizing that the ball and glove logo has an mb in it. That's why it's better. Same concept, better execution.
  25. What does this mean? Quoted for truth. Roundabout way of saying "I agree completely."
