Sunday night is the featured game now like Mondays used to be. That changed when NBC took over Sundays and ESPN got Mondays. I think they made that move because Monday ratings had dropped off regardless of the quality of the game that was on. I know that. But MNF wasn't this bad. And SNF wasn't this bad pre-06 when it was the secondary prime time game (at least, not as far as I remember). I'm just saying that there have to be at least 2-3 somewhat compelling matchups every week, at least to the point that the 2013 Dolphins should never see a national broadcast. I'm confused as to why the Dolphins are your go-to example here, of all teams.
I got into baseball because my cousin started collecting baseball cards and I heard they were worth money, so I wanted some too. After a while I started stopping at baseball games while channel surfing and realizing I recognized names, and it all kept going from there. I'm pretty much a Cub fan because one of those channels was WGN. I have a much easier time enjoying baseball, even with its absurd quantity of down time, than soccer. There's at least a clear THING HAPPENING or POTENTIAL THING HAPPENING every couple of minutes or so, whereas in soccer, I don't understand the intricacies enough to be interested until a goal is at least close to scoring.
Thank you. Wait, are you going to act that this was the stance you were taking all along? The best I'll say about college sports is that it has potential to be fun without all the NCAA and schools [expletive] it all up. Am I missing something here?
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9593233/nfl-quarterback-rankings-john-clayton-reveals-2013-hierarchy-signal-callers-part-3 My favorite quote from that article overall (admittedly I only read it because it referred to my team): "Teams need a 50-catch tight end to make the playoffs." Really? Since when?
He only recently started actually getting into games and was just OK, still clearly slowed by the injury. If he was on the opening day roster the Dolphins would owe a backup G who wasn't at full speed an extra $1.5 million. Not a surprising move, and it wouldn't surprise me if they resigned him to a cheaper deal if nobody snatches him up, either.
