  1. Miami has lost out on every guy they've sought at QB this offseason, so I predict they WAY overpay to get Tebow. Tebow makes absolutely 0% sense for Miami. I wish I could say that meant they wouldn't try to get him, but I don't trust Jeff Ireland to remember to change his underwear, much less make smart personnel decisions. It wouldn't shock me to see Miami draft Ryan Tannehill if he's available since Mike Sherman is now the OC there. I'd imagine he's high on RT, though I don't see him becoming a starting QB in the NFL. Especially not as a rookie. I don't understand this. Is there any particular reason? I view Tannehill as being pretty similar to Locker, only 2 inches taller and minus the two extra years of being starting and passing with crappy accuracy that Locker had.
  2. Great work by the Lakers, though I do look forward to the day when they have a first round pick again. It's been what, five years?
  3. I agree completely. You lose 6 years, 4 inches, 30 pounds, and likely save no money, all in the pursuit of a 36 year old quarterback coming off an injury that erased his last season. And all you get out of it is two 3rd rounders.
  4. I'm pissed if I'm a Miami fan. Especially if they don't get Manning. I'm a Dolphins fan, and I don't even want Manning. I wanted Flynn. It's clear they're going to do whatever they can do to get Manning, though. I'm just praying they don't ruin the team in the process.
  5. The moves the Dolphins make never cease to perplex me. Trade 2 2nds for Brandon Marshall...trade him away for 2 3rds 2 years later, while trying to sign a new quarterback.
  6. Cute.
  7. I've listened to that a few times and I can't even tell when he's supposed to be saying his name.
  8. And this says he is: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20563737,00.html As well as Huffington Post, among other sites. Weird that conventional media is reporting he's dead and sports media isn't.
  9. Mississippi State But yeah, I didn't realize that that Michigan was as useless away from home as Arkansas is until today.
  10. Well, this should be fun.
  11. As compared to who? Mizzou? OU? Texas? Being a higher ranked and having all 3 top receivers graduating this year doesn't hurt, I'd imagine.
  12. it's hard to imagine Miami getting Luck without throwing their entire draft+ at him, and they have enough needs that I wouldn't consider that wise. Barkley not coming out definitely complicates things, though, and I'm not sure who's left that I'd want where they'd end up drafting. Tannehill? Landry?
  13. Wait, I was told no one would trade a young, talented player for Chris Paul? Didn't say anything about two young, talented players.
  14. Wow, they actually got a better deal than they were in the previous trade, which I thought was really good for them.
  15. 800K Still a big paycut. Maybe Gus just wants to be able to start head coaching in a low-pressure environment where he already has some recruiting pull?
  16. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, either. ASU was willing to pay Freeze $500k to keep him from going to Ole Miss. Malzahn made 1.3 mil as OC for Auburn. Either he took a huge pay cut, or they really extended their budgets to get him.
  17. Man, I can't wait to not see that Roethlisberger injury.
  18. Why are people STILL saying this? West wasn't the GM in Memphis when the trade happened. And Memphis didn't get screwed at all. They were terrible and paying Pau a ton of money. By trading him, they got essentially got Mark Gasol, 3 first rounders, and 25 million in cap space in that deal, which led directly to them being the competitive team that they are now.
  19. You'll get nothing and like it. Seriously, though, why are you a Magic, Bears, Cubs fan? WHY OH WHY ARE THERE CUBS/MAGIC FANS? THAT'S JUST NOT NATURAL!! I'm a Dolphins/Cubs/Lakers fan. Don't think I've ever met another, though I do know another Lakers/Dolphins fan.
  20. No. Just..no. It doesn't invalidate the rest of the argument, but this is just complete nonsense. Just because Mississippi State, Florida, and Auburn were ranked at the time does not make them "Ranked teams" in any meaningful judgment of accomplishment at the end of the season. That is utter absurdity. Stop it.
  21. What if they had hired Malzahn? How would you feel about that? I hope no better, because he's also 6 years removed from coaching high school and hasn't ever been a head coach at the college level.
  22. After Saturday, the same number as Alabama. And they've played a much more difficult schedule(8 games against Sagarin's Top 30, 3 for Alabama). The same Sagarin top 30 that has Texas A&M at #12, Missouri at #18 and Iowa State at #29?
  23. ND was not a 10-11 win team. Jeepers. I think there's definitely an argument that they were, considering they won 8 and essentially gave the first two games away.
