  1. It kills me that people are still butchering "Ramirez" after all this time.
  2. and a walk. I'd say he's having an okay couple of days.
  3. So he looks like an Umpa lumpa now? That would be more of a burnt sienna collision.
  4. Gallo now has 8 homers, 20 walks and 16 ks in 54 ABs. he's hitting .315/.500/.870.
  5. That is...far worse than I could have imagined by that description. My lord.
  6. They gave up Luke Walton and this year's first. Sessions is a free agent. Nash solves 2 of the Lakers' biggest problems: point guard (which wasnt a problem with Sessions per se, but still) and the need for a quality perimeter shooter so they can exploit their talent in the post. When there isn't a dangerous threat from beyond the arc, defenses can collapse on the big men and limit their effectiveness. You can't do that when you have one of the league's best shooters roaming the outside. Now the challenge is to see if they can solve their other biggest issue (bench depth/scoring) without getting too old in the process.
  7. And also has 7 errors in 9 games. And we have a winner for the most cartoonish stat line in all of baseball. Everything about his numbers are downright comical. After 3 games he had a .643 OBP while having no hits. This included a 5 walk game. He has walked every game but one.
  8. I need video of that before I believe it.
  9. Lake and Alcantara both had 2 errors tonight? There is some weird synchronicity going on in this system.
  10. They're not going to play 2 fewer regular season games.
  11. of course it would be all former Cubs.
  12. I love when people can't say Jordan was better than Kobe without trying to harp on every single little thing Kobe does that isn't Mount Olympus status. It's comical. Also, "overrated" is pretty much the most useless word in the English language.
  13. Worst stat in all of sports.
  14. Fun Fact: Jarius Wright and Greg Childs played together in high school and jr. high. They've known each other since the 3rd grade.
  15. I'm shocked Miami hasn't taken a wideout yet. I expected the WR clusterintercourse to come in rounds 2-4, but it looks like it may be 3-5.
  16. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/574726_371744209538940_332968243416537_1032897_1867058658_n.jpg
  17. Really? Continuity is the biggest thing here, I think. Smith was on the Arkansas staff a year ago, so he's familiar with the current players and coaches. He'll probably keep a lot of the stuff intact and keep things familiar for everybody. I question his ability to coach long-term and Arkansas signing him to a long term deal would be a mistake, but I don't think it's a terrible one-year, interim move. It was probably the best, or nearly the best, of a bunch of bad options at this point. Correction: not probably. They will be going forward with the same staff. He is extremely well liked by the players, and is only 4 months removed from coaching there originally. He has worked with all of Arkansas's coaches but one. His job is to handle the administrative side of things and let all the assistants do their jobs. There is no illusion that he's a long-term solution, but he is perhaps the best possible bridge to the end of this season, when the hiring options will be exponentially better than they are right after spring ball is over.
  18. Really? Yep. Makes way more sense for them than any other realistic option, without painting them into a corner for the future.
  19. I like it. I hadn't even thought of it as a possibility, but it makes sense.
  20. http://www.nba.com/lakers/video/120422metta_statement This is the most unapologetic apology ever.
  21. Which is why it would be nice to get some benefit from paying him. If he wants to be a dickbag and not put out any effort make him ride the [expletive] bus around in the D-League (or he doesn't get paid). How does letting him pout and sit at home because he's not with the Kardashians do anything other than encourage other dickbags to do the same thing? How does putting him in the d-league get some benefit out of him?
  22. That's not what i was saying, at all, but nevermind. It's not like it's remotely important.
  23. take 1 guess Obviously because it's the closest coast to Asia, but I'm talking the northwest compared to anywhere else, including the rest of the west coast. It may just be my own anecdotal experience, but it seemed like there was an especially high concentration there, where i would have assumed there'd be a larger demographic in California, for example.
  24. seems like an overreaction. wasn't having sex with that horsefaced chick punishment enough? Really does seem like an overreaction. I was thinking he'd get some sort of in-house punishment, maybe suspend him for the first couple of games or something. Didn't think they'd go so far as to fire him. I'm not so sure it was an overreaction. The fact that his alleged mistress got a 100k do-nothing job on the football team just reeks of impropriety. it's 100k now? It was 55k...not that that changes the story in any technical sense, but, yeah. Random: I always did wonder how the northwest ended up being such an Asian wonderland.
  25. Because Tebow sucks also, except that in order to feign effectiveness with him you need to install a high school offense?
