  1. You also left of ROME from Sundays.
  2. The fact that John Terry doesn't have more permanent damage from that amazes the hell out of me.
  3. Right field sucks. be semi-aware during BP. I've seen a couple people get conked by either balls or people going after balls. Bring in a giant bag of peanuts and eat yourself silly. Read a copy of the heckler while you're waiting for the game to start. The old family section in the leftfield corner doesn't fill up as fast, if you're kinda late. It also gets the least sun, so depending in whether you want that or not, I thought i'd throw that out there. The old guy telling the rambling stories about how he skipped horsedriving school and came to games when Ernie Banks wasn't born yet and sex only cost a nickel is probably Fred Hornkohl. Love ya, Fred! See you in May!
  4. And again, improvement from career numbers takes him from one of the worst regulars ever to simply well below average. But better than Neifi, which was the point of our conversation. Hooray! If we get an improvement we'll have someone slightly better than Neifi!
  5. You'll get to see Marquis
  6. Agreed. I like to see predictions after the season is over.
  7. He said he would in his induction speech, I think.
  8. Let's just say that was back when air was clean and sex was dirty, and leave it go at that, OK ? I think the sex is dirty nowadays too, Fred. Especially after Farnsworth was here for several seasons
  9. Thanks to Vance for picking up the VWR torch for this year. A note to store away for next year: if you're in a ticketing window and get kicked back to the VWR, hit your back button a bunch and you'll probably get back into the ticketing system. Another note: all hail me. Extremely hungover, while packing for my flight out of New Orleans, and on my buddy's spyware-riddled laptop on a crappy hotel wireless connection, I still managed to max out my ticket order by 11:25 AM.
  10. Here's the ebay deal... If you want to sell your tickets now, go right ahead. Just note that you don't have the tickets yet, and you'll send them out when you receive them (usually late March). Or you can wait and sell them when you get them. or you can wait until closer to the game (note: this kills you if the cubs are taking a swan dive by then, unless you have White Sox or, to a lesser extent, Cards tickets) It's all legal, so don't worry about that part. Illinois changed their laws recently in this regard. It used to be illegal to sell for over face value online (unless you were a registered broker), but it is no longer.
  11. Am I doing something wrong here? I have about 90 windows open and can't get through. Do you keep getting the "we don't know what team you want" error? If you do, restart your windows using this url http://frontline.purchasenow.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?trxstate=8&agency=MLB&orgid=5
  12. take a deep breath and bend over like you should
  13. thru twice, plus I put on pants!
  14. Anyone else getting this one? "Error We're sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties. We are unable to determine which MLB team's home schedule you are requesting."
  15. do you know what the title of the bar was in your browser when you got through? Itll say "chicago cubs ticketing", usually
  16. yes. one time i got in and put in all my credit card info and hit send...and it never sent, said there was an error in my order, and i was sent back to vwr hell if that happens hit back till you get back to ticketing selection
  17. Hey buddy, you doing the same deal as last year? :D Not sure if Jon is around, but I have about 50 windows open, how would I know if one actually went through? Last year I was home and had my and my wife's computer to run this thing on all day, plus I'd already bought my allotment at the wristband sale. This year I'm hungover in a dark hotel room in New Orleans on my buddy's laptop in my boxer shorts with beads and pieces of tuxedo all around me. So, I doubt it.
  18. i've stoppec at 100 windows because i think i can actually hear my buddy's laptop groaning
  19. I don't think that is true at all. I was about 600 away two years ago and just made it to the ticket window once the online tickets went on sale at 10:00. good thing you cleared that one up.
  20. Wow, that's a huge disadvantage to baserunners. Psst, it says "with no runners on base." Well then that's definitely a huge disadvantage for baserunners
  21. I don't know that I can argue and that doesn't make me happy. Just use the stat that batters swing at his first pitch 70% of the time. It's actually 115%. 60% of the time, they swing every time.

  23. He looks like he did when he first came up. Amazing how dropping a few pounds can take the years off. Additionally, its astonishing how much losing weight can relieve stress on the joints. As most people here know, weight gain isn't always good, whether its fat or muscle. It depends on the profession and the use of the additional mass. Those generalities are a given. However, it is seldom emphasized how much just an additional 5-7 pounds can have on your joints and interal systems in general. For instance, how many people know that being just 8 pounds overweight can lead to snoring? This fact demonstrates that weight does not just gather on the outer most layers of our physics, but rather has significant impact on our internal systems. If a person's build is such that it cannot accommodate additional mass (again, fat or muscle), his or her joints will suffer. I have experienced this first hand in my shoulder and was amazed at the results of losing weight. (Snoring was also aleviated). If Kerry has lost weight and can maintain it (not an easy thing the older you get), I think there may be light at the end of the tunnel for us fans who have pulled for Wood all of these years. I hope the best for him. As long as you have an 8 pound epiglottis.
