  1. They are standing up. Brian Giles, on the other hand, refused to stand up last time I was in the bleachers, no matter how many times I yelled at him.
  2. Is it on youtube? You can YouTube the clip of them doing it to Blanco. He took the corner while still wrapped in some of them. So it's good to throw stuff at players in futbol? streamers. It's funny.

  4. That's a fine point and you might have me there, but I'd still take Sosa. caveman http://www.returningblog.com/caveman.jpg looks like da meat hook

  6. He's actually registered here. He's posted a few times and done a few Q & A sessions in the past. What's his username? lenkasper? I think he is a member at a few Cubs blogs and forums. You got to love a broadcaster that fits in time to interact with the fans. lenkaspercubstv is his user name. Hmmm, it shows he has never been on nor has he posted. You may be looking at his profile on Premium (I'm not sure if you have Premium or not). On Premium profiles don't always show the member's join date or number of posts (it depends on how the member sets up the profile). The profile on the non-premium interface does show that information. There are many, many posters here who could verify that he has posted.also he sends out instant messages
  7. I have nothing to do at work Tuesday besides vote for you, big boy.
  8. I heard Elinore Triner had children out of wedlock.
  9. Jesus was a wealthy Republican with a number of mistresses.
  10. All are welcome. Where's that photoshop of Totti going off the diving board? Also, I probably hate Gattuso more than any other player in the world. More than Blanco or Oswaldo Sanchez? Or pretty much any player on the Mexican team, for that matter. Ooh, I had forgotten about Sanchez, he may have to be Arch Villian 1A. See, I don't hate Sanchez. It's hard to hate someone who gets owned every time you face him. I actually dislike Rafa Marquez much, much more. We tailgated with a guy at the Gold Cup final that had made shirts that read "Anti-Sanchez Brigade" on the front and "Nobody Likes a Dirty Sanchez" on the back. I've got pictures somewhere that I'll put up.
  11. Trust me, if you wake up with one, go get yourself tested no matter what she says. I think if you wake up next to a pie, and it talks to you, you are definitely in need of some serious medical tests. Or, you're Yeti.
  12. Your cornea is pretty much the most innervated part of your body. Yes, even more than that part.
  13. It was a standard VWR release, limited to 4 tickets per person per series.
  14. B. Where they got their points punishment more than cut in half, and are already back up. I hate Juve. I read that Pierluigi Colotta is going to be assigning the officials this year in Serie A. I also read that attendance was down last season in Italy, and that Italian soccer is in terrible shape. Which is weird, since Italy and AC Milan won both major competitions the past 2 years. Yeah, Collina is the designator. Some of the guys at the big clubs aren't happy about that. it surprises me that they have such an air of impunity that they can bitch about the best ref Italy has ever seen getting the designator job. And yeah, Italy has had an attendance problem for a while now. Pretty much none of the teams sell out, except for derbies. it's partially due to the seating arrangements, which suck (tons of expensive seats that nobody buys), it's partially due to the danger of the tifosi, and it's partially due to the fact that Italians are really, really jaded.
  15. The only one I can think of is Vieri when he played for Atletico. Edit: Coco when he played for Barca. Had to Wikipedia that one. I can vaguely recall him taking a blow to the head vs. South Korea and playing like dazed moron while Trappatoni failed to sub him. Wait...Cannavaro played for Real Madrid last summer, right? cannavaro moved after the world cup, and with juve being relegated the cirucumstances were a little different for an italian transfer from serie a. Oooooh yeah. I forgot about Juve going down to Serie Q. B. Where they got their points punishment more than cut in half, and are already back up. I hate Juve.

That was post-WC. he didn't transfer until late July, IIRC.

  18. Are you saying he's an adulterer? Cause if so, that's a huge accusation and you gotta be careful who you say that about. It's not a baseless accusation. It's a fact. Pregnant man gives birth. That's a fact.
  19. Yep, and he gives many Spanish interviews after every time we beat Mexico.
  20. I could personally care less what MLS sold him for. First of all, we have no idea what clauses are involved in the transfer, and second of all, transfer fees are nothing more than a giant pissing match. If MLS was hurting for cash, I'd feel differently. But they're not.
  21. Here's an interesting Adu rumor: http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul28e.html P.S. Calcio Italia blatantly makes crap up sometimes.
  22. i seem to have different standards than most people on this board. Yeah, that seems to be a bit low of a bar to set for happiness to me as well. Merely playing meaningful games in August is, well, meaningless. To me, at least. exactly...who cares if they are in the hunt if they don't make it...seriously...i would much rather have my teams suck then make a mad dash at the finish line and then fall on their faces...that SUCKS btw...we lost to a muppet tonight...a FREAKIN MUPPET i am jaded at the moment So would you have rather seen the Cubs miss the playoffs in 2003 as opposed to what actually happened? Just curious to see your response. I think what he's saying is that he'd rather they suck than have a 2004, not a 2003.
  23. I think walks and hits per inning pitched can be a good stat. Like how often the guy prevents baserunners! Conveniently, we do have a statistic like that. WHIP: 2003: 1.509 (Eyre) versus 1.397 (Linebrink) 2004: 1.329 (Eyre) versus 1.036 (Linebrink) 2005: 1.083 (Eyre) versus 1.059 (Linebrink) 2006: 1.484 (Eyre) versus 1.216 (Linebrink) yet another case of misuse of stats. we are not talking about predicting future performance. we are evaluating past performance. in evaluating past performance, these stats in large part lose their meaning because what is important is how often runners score as a result of a pitchers performance. when viewed in this light, it is clear that Scott Eyre was a very good relief pitcher for a couple of years. I see you have made your choice, so I'm done with this discussion. I decide that Truffle wins because you quit.
  24. He's available because he sucks
