  1. It would be hilarious to see what Klinsmann's reaction would be to the pu pu platter that is the Galaxy roster.
  2. Geovany Soto
  3. I was pumped when I saw that on Sky Sports. Hopefully Deuce can earn some consistent playing time. It'd be nice to have a non-goalie or non-oldie McBride thrive in the Premiership. well, McBride being out should get him some more playing time.
  4. it worked for them last time
  5. Is it too late to hire him? you don't want him
  6. 2/6M would be a pretty decent deal for Monroe. hahahahaha. Oh, wait. You're probably not joking.
  7. You just haven't watched Bradley close enough then. He's at his best when he just tackles and then puts the ball back to the defenders and lets them bypass him entirely going forward (see Gold Cup semis vs Canada, until the red card). That's not a good sign. Also, i respectfully disagree with your lineup. As much as I love forwards, putting out an aggressive, forward-heavy formation would just take away from being able to put out our real offensive strength, our o-mids in Dempsey, Donovan, beasley and, soon, Adu. Although if they can't finish it really doesn't matter. I'm all for giving Altidore his run out vs. Brazil, I'd just do it in a single striker formation.
  8. Got my tickets today!!!
  9. And he will start Thursday...bye bye Al Alburquerque! I also irrationally hate certain 21-year old Dominican kids on the basis of 11 appearances.
  10. This thing should be required reading for anyone who is interested in schizophrenia.
  11. Ok, here are my thoughts: First of all, the fact that until the Ching injury Bradley was going to be starting over Feilhaber, and then benny had to play out of position, is pretty damn stupid. Dempsey was the only US player that consistently showed any offensive verve. Donovan didn't have a good touch, Beasley looked dangerous at times but once again couldn't finish. Nor could Dempsey. The central defense got absolutely shredded by ibrahimovic. Granted, he's one of the best strikers in the world, but he absolutely abused Boca especially. Onyewu had a little better luck with him (but not much) by just being rough, which Ibrahimovic reacts to poorly due to his patented Juventus "Super Pansy" training, which makes him go to ground way more easily than any man of his size ever should. Cherundolo looked decent, Bornstein did his soon-to-be-classic game of getting caught out of position regularly and then trying to make up for it with his speed, mixed in with a couple of dangerous runs forward that never amount to anything because he gets too excited on the ball. Mastroeni was virtually nonexistent for his half, despite the comments of the idiot FSC commentator, whoever he is. no, moron, Donovan and Mastroeni are not the best players on the field. Also, the mic is picking you up when you spend 5 minutes in the first half going "is this working? Is this working? This isn't on the air, is it?" Benny looked fairly poor on the outside but once he moved inside he did slightly better. However, his ability to do things was severely hampered by Michael Bradley, who once again looks like a decent footballer until something difficult like the game actually beginning starts happening, at which point he just looks terrible. I counted at the very least a half dozen giveaways on gimme passes or lax dribbling where there was no pressure around him. Not only that, but while everyone else is going to be busy complaining about the pushoff of Cherundolo leading to the goal for Sweden, I'm much more upset about the fact that Cherundolo's pressure resulted in a free ball which Bradley simply ran directly over without picking up, allowing the Swedish possession to continue. Go back and watch the replay. Bradley sucks, the fact that he'd ever be a choice over Feilhaber, Rico Clark, or even Pablo (and soon to be Maurice Edu as well) is criminal, and i'm really unhappy that his dad is the coach and is going to keep running him out there. Convey looked really bad, but I kind of expected it because he's been out for so long. I wouldn't have called him up at this point. Kamani Hill had a few good runs. Oh, one more thing. What the hell kind of first choice stadium for a decent European country has a field the width of a bowling lane?
  12. McBride is out until November. He dislocated his kneecap.
  13. I watched almost the entire LA-NY match last night. Its probably stating the obvious, but 3 players were clearly the best on the pitch: Beckham, Alitdore, and Angel. I'm so excited to watch Altidore grow into an even better player. Beckham is a monster. His passing is so crisp and the free kicks he assisted on were beautiful, while the NY defense on them was atrocious. 66,000 people were there to watch it to. Big Chelsea-Liverpool match this morning at Anfield. I don't have a good feeling, but I'd be happy with a point coming out of this one. Jozy Altidore is going to be the real deal. His 2nd goal last night was just pure class. Holy crap I just saw it. Great presence on the ball. if you want to see the major difference between Eddie Johnson and Altidore, it's demonstrated perfectly in the goal.

Go Liverpool! Wish I could watch, though... 0-0 through 14 minutes. 1-0 L'pool through 16 minutes. Torres with a beauty. if he keeps doing that, anfield is going to love the hell out of him.
  15. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/soccer/08/18/zidane.insult.ap/index.html That's it? mcBride injured himself scoring today.
