  1. You are a one man A/V club. And I mean that in a good way. Now we just need to get Quade a cat to stroke in the dugout... Quade is the Mr. Bigglesworth of MLB.
  2. I don't believe that happened at all. If we're able to find out the exact time Sammy Sosa left the clubhouse, someone would have discovered that human feces was in the "exact spot" where Dusty stood during games. More woe is me crap from the master of excuses.
  3. Well, we don't have to worry about Kenny Williams wanting any part of Pujols. In other news, Kenny wonders if he can still sign Carl Everett and Roberto Alomar at this year's trade deadline.
  4. maybe his name is davearm2 because he REALLY wants us to think he has two arms because he is j. walter weatherman, kind of conveying important messages http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_peLg3xECO5g/SIs_b3I1kII/AAAAAAAAAK4/8ppnYKyqg9Y/s320/Pier_Pressure59.jpg And that's why you don't put a position player in to pitch.
  5. I just commented on a post relating to people taking sides based on salary. Seriously, what difference does it make to you or me? None. I like watching baseball. That's it. If that was sarcasm, I apologize.
  6. Or it's just a ridiculous sum of money to those making middle-class wages. I certainly don't begrudge certain classes of people for what they make as it is what the market will bear. However, I just can't empathize with someone making $10 million dollars a year wanting to make $20 million. I want my bills to get paid on time. But you empathize with the billionaire owner who wants to hold on to even more money for himself Where are you getting that? I don't empathize the sums of money on either side. It's the rich fighting the richer. Wow, listen to yourself. The money has to go somewhere. Does it stay in the pocket of the billionaire owner for no reason, or does it go to the guy who makes the product on the field what it is (a.k.a. makes the owner his money)? I can enjoy the game of baseball without caring about its finances. Not that novel of a concept.

  9. Red Sox, no. But the Yankees literally have nowhere to play Pujols. Texiera has 1B locked down for most of his contract, A-Rod and/or Jeter will be moved to the DH position eventually and that's about it for Pujols range. Unless the Yankees are convinced they can convert someone to an OF position to make room for Pujols at DH.
  10. We need to chip in and get this man some eyebrows. maybe his entire body is hairless With alopecia, I'm pretty sure it is. He doesn't even have eyelashes!
  11. And it's not even close. Sox fans have this weird online mobilization when it comes to this type of newspaper quiz. I really think they believe the results to be binding legally.
  12. I've mentioned it before, and one of these days it may be true! If Ramirez opts out and if the Cubs are unable to lock down Pujols or Fielder, could the Cubs pull an upset and trade for David Wright? Given the Mets financial trouble, he becomes the Mets' most expensive position player following 2011 with two years and $31 million remaining on his contract. Would they be willing to part with him for cheap pitching and possibly Vitters?
  13. Funny. Sad, but ESPN would do it. I think Albert's got a little more class than that, though. Fortunately. But even if he did, it would be Fox News hosted by Glenn Beck.
  14. I take back what I said if this is one of his replacements: http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/6923/insert-matt-garza
  15. I can't tell if you're talking about Rob Neyer or Al Yellon. Neyer. Can't stand him.
  16. I'll take the opposition view because I feel that he's a know-it-all that can't take criticism and is more than willing to point out when others don't embrace his viewpoints.
  17. Theriot, is that you?
  18. The Rays had the 24th, 32nd, 38th, 50th, 54th, and 57th picks. With the Yankees signing Soriano, you can now add the 31st pick to that. It looks like the supplemental pick for Soriano will be 40th or so as well. Somehow, the Rays can get a supplemental pick if Chad Qualls signs with another team and it looks like the Pads are about to sign him. Which leaves Grant Balfour out there, who was a Type A actually. I figure the only way another team signs him is if it's a team that's already given up their 1st and maybe their 2nd rounders as well, but anyway, who cares? The Rays look like they're going to have NINE picks in the first 65, in the best draft over the last decade. Definitely apparent now as to why they've cut payroll as much as they have, if you ask me. Can you imagine if they had a respectable payroll? They could make the Yankees look like an also-ran in their own division. All the credit to their scouting and minor league department for making the most of those picks too.
  19. Fixed!
  20. Isn't Welington Castillo considered back-up material?
  21. Did I miss where they would be paying United to appear? That blurb didn't mention it at all.
  22. It's almost more pathetic that there was one voter for several exceedingly substandard candidates. I mean Al Leiter? Brett Boone? Benito freaking Santiago? In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "Who are these people?"
  23. Less than 50% for Bagwell makes me angry. He's never been implicated in anything more than playing during the steroid era.
  24. Dude has a family he has to support. You can't do that without collecting a paycheck. At this stage of his career, I'm sure that's just as important as winning.
  25. Oh good, it's the semi-annual "Hendry's a hack!"/"No he's not!" argument. Not to be a scold nor am I an admin, but can we try and keep this on Garza?
