  1. You said that if they sign Chapman and Belli, it would put them over by 40 million. I said that I thought that it would be over by 5 million. Then you said that they still have to buy relief pitchers. I said that they aren't buying 35 million in RP. That's the only way that it would put them over by 40 million. That's the 35 million. Maybe you meant to type a different number instead of 40 million in the beginning of your post.
  2. Spending another 35 million on relievers isn't even a consideration for them. I'd be happy with adding Matt Moore and calling it a day. That would mean that 3 guys currently in the pen will not be on the OD roster.
  3. He'll be about 8 million a year if I had to guess.
  4. Spotrac has his market value at 2/6.8 based on similar comps. So I was giving him a bit more. I think the Sox very much over paid for Brebbia.
  5. Right now, they're 40 million under the first level. I think that between the two of them, it might push them 5 million over the CBT.
  6. As a non player, the only thing to vote on for him is his contribution towards the game. In my opinion, he has done nothing for the game.
  7. I mentioned Moore a couple of months ago on here. I think 2/8 would be about right?
  8. He has a full no trade clause.
  9. Thanks bud. I have to start scrolling down further!
  10. I thought it was!! Thank, Rob. I don't usually scroll down that far. Now I will!!
  11. I was thinking about Woodruff a couple of months. Then I realized recently that he had shoulder surgery, and not elbow surgery. I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that shoulder surgery is much worse than elbow surgery, which we know has a very high success rate. But if healthy, I'd love to have him at or near the top of the rotation.
  12. What site is this info from, 1908?
  13. Probably not. But I personally see both Little and Brown as better options in the 9th. Just my opinion.
  14. It's my wishful thinking scenario. I'm not a fan of Adbert closing out games. Last year he did a nice job. But when they're ready to win the WS, I don't think for on minute that he's the guy that should be closing. I just don't see him as a closer on a WS team. I'd like to see him in the 7th inning role sooner than later. Why do you think that Brown won't be up until July. Is he still hurt? If not, he's 24 entering his 8th year in the minors, with 3 plus pitches. Surely that will play out of the pen on OD. That's if he's healthy. If he's healthy, the Cubs will be the reason he's not on the OD roster, and not him.
  15. You don't see Shaw as the long term answer? Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I personally think that it's a forgone conclusion that he's going to be playing 3B for the next 6, maybe more years. I'm a huge Shaw fan, and I'd be very upset if they brought in yet another third baseman.
  16. Little is a new arm this year. And I wouldn't be surprised if Brown isn't another new arm. I'm hoping that either Brown or Little end up in the closer's role, with the other being the 8th inning guy. Adbert for the 7th or middle relief.
  17. If Brown isn't going to be in the rotation, I'd like to see Little and Brown being the back end of the pen.
  18. They don't really plan on going with 4 LHP's in the rotation, do they? Is Wicks getting moved if they sign Monty? With 65% of league being RHH, I don't like more than 2 LHP in my rotation. These guys aren't Randy Johnson. These LHP'ers are not TOTR guys. And I know that the matchup are not the same as how difficult a LHP is to hit for a LHH. I still prefer a heavy RHP staff. 4/1 is preferred for me.
  19. The CBT hit is 20.5 million. Yes, they must be looking for cash on hand relief, and not so much CBT room.
  20. I'd say Swanson. Especially if the Cubs are Belli's only serious market. Without a bidding war with other teams, I think that the Cubs should be able to get Belli in the 22-23 AAV range. It's the bidding war that forces teams to pay over market value. If the Cubs are willing to go 7 years, I think that 145-150 is doable. Again, that's if there's not other teams driving his price up.
  21. With all due respect, I can't see any situation that if PCA is in the lineup, he's move off of CF. There's nobody on the roster, and likely in the league that can bump him to another position.
  22. This makes sense, and is certainly a possibility.
  23. I've been saying this for a few years and was scoffed at. We already know their budget.
  24. Why would Seattle trade him? He would be a great catch!
  25. Thank you! After seeing more information about him, he's really made huge strides in the last 3 years. I rethought my position on him, and I'd put him in the #3 to #7 range. I really didn't realize how good he recently got. Thanks again for pointing it out.
