  1. I hope I'm right brother!!!
  2. He has a minor league contract, and is not on the 40. I think that he can be sent to AAA without any issues. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that if he was on the 40, he would have to approve the assignment because he's out of options.
  3. Yep. It was a very good off season. Adding Busch, Imanaga, Neris, Little will get to pitch for a change, and even Almonte are all upgrades. Counsell runs rings around Ross as a manager. I have them at 93-69
  4. I don't view Belli as any kind of addition. Imanaga replaces Stroman. Busch replaces that horsefeathers show at 1B last year. Neris, Little, and Almonte added to pen.
  5. Like 1908 convinced me of, he's on a delayed start so that he'll be useful and available at the end of the season. If he gets called up in the middle of June, he can have 20 starts with zero limitations, assuming his inning count is in the 130 range. That's pitching in to the 7th inning every game. We know that's not happening. Delaying his start is the smart thing to do.
  6. That's not crazy!
  7. I personally think that stuff, and tools are way more important than stats in the minors. The minors is literally a practice league for the majors. Players are working on things. When they don't have anything to prove or work on in the minors, the majors are the next step. I could be wrong, but I assume that Brown is still working and practicing on things in the minors. But at some point, and I think it's going to be very soon, they are going to have to see that this is very likely who he is, and get him on the roster.
  8. If Kiermaier is his his ceiling, I'd be so disappointed. I guess I'd begrudgingly settle for a Kiermaier career, but it would most certainly be a disappointment to me.
  9. I think his time is today. If they don't want to use him as a SP, or as a RP, what are they doing with him? I agree that if they are dead set on him being a SP, then AAA is the spot right now. If they plan on moving him to the pen, he should not be in AAA. I'd say that he would be one of the top 3-4 guys in the pen right now. So it's clear that a SP is still their goal. What if he's in AAA and working out of the pen? How awful would that be? I think it would be criminal.
  10. You asked about last year. Last year he was a top 10 defensive 3B. Over his career, not so much. But also, last season was the first season that he played primarily 3B. It's also the only year he was a positive defensive 3B. So maybe there's something to that?
  11. With 3 plus/plus pitches, that should tell us how filthy he actually is. And the eye test also tells us he's filthy. I'm just saying that if can's harness his control by now, there's a very good chance that this is who he is. And if this is who he is, if they're not putting him the rotation any time soon, he could be a high leverage reliever today. I don't think this is a make or break trade. Looking at his stuff, and seeing him pitch, at the very least, he should be in the pen. Even with control issues. In the pen he doesn't need all 3 pitches to be on a particular day. Don't use the one that's causing control issues that day. Also, I can see an uptick in velo in 1 inning bursts.
  12. 24 years old is not "young" with all of his minor league experience. My point is, it's clear that he has big league stuff. He's filthy. His control issues may never be worked out, no matter how long he pitches in the minors.
  13. Year 8 in the minors and 24 years old. He looked great, and is healthy. If they don't know what they have by now, then somebody doesn't know what they're doing. Get him on the roster, or trade him. This is who he is.
  14. I thought the same thing about keeping him in ST to challenge him. Who knows? Maybe they thought it was doing him more harm.
  15. My guess is that they don't need to see him. He's the first baseman, and they are looking at players that they need to make a decision on.
  16. His stuff is obviously major league ready today. His control last year was awful, and that's what kept him down. If his control is better, he's ready today. And in ST, it looks better
  17. Brown IS MLB ready. Maybe with CC making decisions, we'll see Brown sooner than later on this roster.
  18. My apologies. I assumed that you didn't have access to this at that moment.
  19. No doubt. I just pointing out to the poster who's not happy about it, that the Marquee Network was not created for the fans. It was created for generating more revenue for ownership.
  20. What a shock! His inability to stay off the DL should make their decision a little easier.
  21. He pitched 3.1 innings with 4 hits, 0 K's, 1 BB, 4 hits, 1 ER
  22. Marquee wasn't created to benefit the fans. It was created to benefit the owners. It's a cash generating project for the Ricketts family.
  23. If was to take a guess, I would say it's because these are practice games.
  24. Swing decisions I can get on board with. I guess if there high velo guys down there, that could help.
  25. If his biggest issue is with major league velocity, how is facing minor league pitching going to help with that? If his issue is something more than just the ability to catching up with major league fastballs, then AAA is probably needed.
