  1. Soon, grief shall pass, and utter insanity shall set in.
  2. It's a little bit like NFL Network bringing whichever Gumbel it was in the first season of their football games. He was terrible and really had no business being back in the booth. The difference, though, is that Gumbel was at least a football announcer for a few years. I'm not sure Stockton ever did a baseball game before last season. he used to broadcast red sox games, i believe it was back in the '70's though. He called Fisk's famous homerun.
  3. Me fail English? Thats unpossible! /Just received B.A. in English /About to be laidoff from temp position /Lives at home /Liberal Arts, baby!
  4. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/baseball/mlb/10/01/mets.burgos.accident.ap/index.html?cnn=yes He pitched in 17 games with the Mets in 2007 before needing TJ Surgery.
  5. Right now the HC is free, it appears, but I doubt it stays that way, not with how greedy MLB is. Also, the audio sucks. Not only is it a couple seconds ahead of the video, but its really, really crappy and is choppy. It hurts to listen to it at times.
  6. I like how you still called the thread "Other games" despite there being only one game. Looks like the rain is on its way out.
  7. They were elminated with the Brewers winning.
  8. This isn't about Wrigley Field, where I'm pretty sure they do cut off after the seventh, this is about the bars around Wrigley, which only have to abide by what the city liquor laws state. This crap that Daley is trying to do smacks of him just continuing his war against the Cubs.
  9. You know what is going to happen now: The Mets will complain that Selig forced them to play when the game should have been postponed, therefore making everything his fault.
  10. You may not know this, not being a Cub fan and all, but the Cubs recently came back from a 6-2 deficit in the 9th inning. Johan will still probably be pitching. 86 pitches through 6. That'd be slightly short-sighted. You have to excuse him, his thinking has been spoiled by Sabathia.
  11. That was probably not the best move by Beltran. Down by six with one already out in the seventh inning, he should probably be a little more careful out there. Sure, great catch, but if you injure yourself when your team needs you the most over the next six or seven games in a game your are already down by six, eh.

  14. At this point, I kind of hope the Astros climb back into the Wild Card race and make that last game necessary in order to tie for the WC. Then with Randy Wells and the other AAA's leading the way, the Cubs still crush them. It won't happen, not with the Stros 5 games back already, but that would be hilarious.
  15. There is no way thats a strike, as the BAT CAN NOT REACH ALL THE WAY OVER THERE.
  16. Just dump a single into right center, Jimmy.
  17. They pinch hit for him, didn't they? No, he was double switched in. (Batting 8th)
  18. Batters should really be able to appeal to first.
