  1. I won't watch, but thats because I don't watch that much tv anymore.
  2. Man, maybe one of the 12 who have voted for VN will actually defend their pick...
  3. lets see: Wrigley Camden Busch GreatAmerican Citizen Bank RFK I rank Busch above GABP and CitBank because of the teams playing (Cubs vs Cards) just made it an incredible experience, and that GABP and CitBank are basically the same ballpark. RFK, while interesting, wasn't great.
  4. I agree with ndistops. Besides also seeming to have a plan to get out, albeit not being implemented all that well, there also is a better plan going in. The army is not scared to go after these guys, unlike in Viet Nam where they wouldn't cross the DMZ into North Viet Nam, only doing bombing and Special Forces missions into it. In Nam, they sat back and fought a sit and wait war, where the missions in South Nam were there only to hunt down the VC. Also, with Iraq, there are positives. Sure, the media won't report on them, they're not sexy, but they are there while the Vietnamese really didn't care who was in charge in the long run.
  5. I remember that first game... I was there, it was awesome to see him go for it and the Cards fans have nothing to say.
  6. I went to a game in 98 against the Giants that he hit 56 (I believe) in. I was also at one against the Rockies in 01? where he hit 3 homers in a horrible lost. Then in 2003, I saw them in Baltimore just after the cork and saw him hit a double high off the center field wall that everyone thought was gone. I never believed that something like this would happen.
  7. He looks like he just played golf...
  8. I think that photo is a little misleading.
  9. My question pertains to your time as Assistant Press Secretary under Reagan, I was just wondering what it was like working in the White House under him, and how you became involved in a job like that?
  10. Hey, same time that I will be there.
  11. Curling is actually pretty interesting mentally, it might not be the most physical, but its definitely the most mental.
  12. And he blanks the end to keep the last throw in the 10th end! what?
  13. The X games should get curling Xtreme Curling?
  14. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic exactly.
  15. yay! WFT? What, f that?
  16. yeah. 10man does stuff for it. havn't seen him in a while.
  17. WHAT? for a while he was the only one posting.
  18. Number 1: Thats the best we've had in a while (pathetic, I know) Number 2: 1 Div Champ 1 Wild Card 3 Winning Seasons (95, 01, 04)
  19. The issues lie not with the money, but with the lack of any real plan or anybody with a pair of balls in management positions. What needs to be done is have the entire front office cleared out and new people brought in with actual ideas and plans, not this non-sense of copying whatever worked last year that we have now. The Tribune won't do this because of how much money it would cost to terminate certain contracts and go thru the hiring process. Instead, the instituional thought process will be kept because we are promoting from with in. A new owner would inspire change.
  20. Anyone else find it funny that the first game, between Korea and Chinese-Taipai is being broadcasted on a Spanish language network?
  21. Florida and Colorado expaned in 93, Tampa Bay and Arizona in 98, Seattle has been around since 77 (in the last previous expansion, with Toronto). Florida won the World Series in 97.
  22. A large part of it goes to Sosa/McGuire, especially because of the fan friendly demeanor both guys had. But the rise of international stars, especially the Latin American stars, really brought in a lot of exposure. I think, in the end, the combination of new rules that brought in more competition and the homerun chase pushed it back to the main stream.
