Would have to think no to a second SP.
Hate to see Hoyer give up too much of their good assets away now, especially if they still need another SP that will require their better ones, probably a bat or two, and maybe a late inning bullpen guy.
I think they have enough arms to cover the 5th spot if rotation after Taillon returns
I can deal with that...
Rea and Soroka out of the pen can be beneficial.
Help limit Horton innings in September if they choose to go that route and always good to have inning eaters in the postseason.
Im not mad at this, just hope he can give them 5-6 innings of good pitching for 2 months and Rea becomes a key addition now to help improve the middle of the pen.
So if the Cardinals and Giants are selling, or not doing much of anything to improve, the NL playoff teams seem to be pretty much set before August 1st with only the Reds actually trying to push a team out.
Obviously the schedule has to play out but ...
W..
Let hope this ends up being that pivotal game that gets the Cubs rolling and the Brewers skidding...
You're up Jed, go get a couple difference makers now.
Ballesteros, is there a real possibility for him to stick on this roster after today?
With everyone healthy and Amaya returning soon, where would he get his AB as a C/DH?
Maybe it best for him if he gets used in a trade for a SP since hes pretty much blocked with this team, of course there's always next season for him.
Dude went from hurting his leg and feeling dizzy, getting put on IL, xrays being negative, not being put on IL, getting the day off, looking like crap striking out as a PH, to hitting a HR all in less then 24 hours. 😅😅😅
