    Ok? He and Boyd could of still used that day off or two at the end of September over having to make those extra pitches going into the playoffs.

    It one AB to start the game, id take my chances with Busch over Turner there and save Turner for later in the game if needed off the bench against a lefty.

    Why even bother with Turner for 1 AB, nothing else changed in the lineup but hey let get Turner an AB to probably do nothing.

    If Boyd was pitching well then yea, go ahead and take that chance with him on 3 days rest, BUT... He was laboring for the most part in his last 10+ starts to where everyone was hoping they would find a way to get him extra rest before the playoffs and he was bailed out in his start against the Padres by some terrific defense. Today game would of been tough to win against Peralta no matter who started but I was in favor with holding Boyd for Game 2 and getting him 5 days rest after a short outing and than have Imanaga in Game 3 after 6 days rest, I think going that route would of benefited both the Starters and the team going forward. The real problem is still the offense, this team needs to figure out how to produce runs because 2-3 runs will most likely not get it done

    Well this was pretty much predictable.. Boyd was shaky as it was since September and needing rest, but hey let start him with 3 days rest against the Brewers on the road. He got all of 2 outs, but at least he'll be available and rested for Game 4 if they get there 😒 I guarantee no other manager that in the postseason now would of started Boyd today and would of taken advantage of getting him and Imanaga those extra days off. Today should of been the day to go with a Rea, Assad, and or Soroka combo to get 6 innings. Counsell screwed this one up and better hope Imanaga with just 4 days rest can get it done Monday

    Kinda iffy with starting Boyd here, I get Counsell thinking with hoping to get 3 or 4 out of him today and then he'll have normal rest if there a Game 4 and also have Imanaga for Game 5 if needed, but I kinda felt with Peralta going for them this game would be a tough one to win as it was. I just figured if they lose today then at least the Cubs would have a well rested Boyd and Imanaga with extra days rest going for them in Games 2 and 3, then have Taillon for Game 4 and then Boyd with regular rest for 5. We'll see how it works out, obviously bats have to produce, hopefully Peralta will be a little wild and rusty with only having pitched 2 innings since he went 5 on September 22nd and the bats can take advantage early.

    That was Frey worse decision going with Sanderson there over going for the kill with Sutcliffe in Game 4.

    They would need to be 100% certain he can pitch in game 5 and put him on the roster, otherwise the only way they can add him is if there's an injury.

    Would help the Cubs big time, especially if they steal Game 1 and then they're able to rest the pen again the next day and give Boyd and Imanaga an extra day rest

    Don't celebrate to much guys, only have one day off and last time you did this you loss 5 in a row.. just saying lol

    Enjoy this series win cause the next one going to be even tougher, especially with the early pitching matchups. Be cool though if it 2-2 going into game 5 with Horton return
