  1. Nice start from our young top prospects https://twitter.com/BleacherNation/status/1773876353290408120?t=SN3Nda0ExNcIMv_hdCN8iQ&s=19
  2. I came in hoping they get 1 of 3 this series, tonight was a winnable game but they didn't do much with the bats when they had opportunities. 1 for 7 RISP 8 LOB Losing Steele gonna hurt and likely cost them what possibly could have been Wins in his starts, hopefully whomever takes those starts can hold his own and they can win more then they lose in those starts.
  3. I'm still trying to figure out why he pinched hit for Gomes with another RHer in the 10th.. Guessing Smyly will be starting in Steele slot for now.
  4. He had a much better offense and late inning relievers with Milwaukee then he has now
  5. Time for Illini basketball.. Cubs likely have a hard time getting the one run home let alone 2 in an inning ☹️
  6. Mastrobuoni did something good there to get that run home 😅😅😅😅
  7. Come on, winnable game here, let get a run and then AA will close it out
  8. Need to get some action from bottom of order here...
  9. Suzuki and Bellinger, that the way to get the lead back, 2 big 2 out hits.
  10. That the problem with the bats, it's potentials and hopes, there nothing steady or consistent with any of them that you can count on.
  11. Hopefully the fact he got up on his own and walked off was a good sign
  12. A league average offense last season that didn't do anything to improve it, gonna be tough to win games without having solid pitching... Losing their best starter for any amount of time is going to be rough, I guess it'll be Smyly til Taillon or Steele returns. Yikes
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong.. Busch and Cooper are the only new faces for the position players. Imanaga and Neris are the only new additions to the pitching. So they basically just spent on getting Bellinger back and Imanaga 🤷‍♂️
  14. I just dont get the love for Madrigal.. So much for giving Morel every opportunity to play 3B 🙄
  15. One can only hope but with Girardi gone we may see him more. I'm really not a fan of the inconsistencies in the booth with Marquee and them having guys rotating in and out. If Boog and JD can't do 162 and need time away then go get 2 people who can. I guess I'm just old school who enjoyed Harry and Stone, then eventually Len Kasper with Brenly and then JD. I like Alex Cohen when he does play by play for Iowa and fills in for the Cubs sometimes
  16. Yea he's too positive with every player on this team, he'd be telling us how good Koyie Hill, Vitters, and Descalso will be if they were playing today 😅
  17. I feel Madrigal will be gone when Wisdom returns and if not one of the kids from Iowa that ready to come up then possibly a trade for an upgraded bat will make Mastrobuoni disappear, I just dont see him providing much offensively when needed. I like to have guys on the bench that you can put in for 2-3 games or more if a regular has to take a couple days off or goes on Il for an injury or whatever reason and you can trust their replacement can at least be somewhat productive over that time to help the lineup and not just be a hole in the lineup that just filling a spot. That what I see Mastrobuoni and Madrigal as being, a hole in the line up when their in it.
  18. Wow, gonna be keeping an eye on Joe Nahas this season.. Nice outing, bases loaded no outs comes in relief and gets out of it by striking out 3
