  1. I think this is something Ross has taken from Maddon playbook, when a player slumping bat him at the top of lineup.
  2. That not luck, those wins happened on pure skill the cubbies way 😏😏😏
  3. Good news is Canairo in the lineup, bad news, Wisdom playing first and Morel playing 3B..lol
  4. Well, I guess if the Braves sweep them and the Cubs sweep the Pirates, cubs will just be 1 back of the Phillies and a team they could move ahead of whether it for the 4th, 5th, or 6th WC spot. Both are actually possible, plus if the Braves can win as many games possible this week, then more chance they wrap up home field throughout and rest players against the cubs next week. That why you should root from Braves to win 🤷‍♂️
  5. Hopefully Braves can help out and beat the Phillies this week
  6. I didn't notice one made or anywhere else to post this, Cubs changed up their rotation because of off latest days, I wonder too of Stroman will be taking Taillon spot in rotation against the Rockies this weekend.
  7. Agree, it cool that they had a great run after the break and got over 500, but in reality this roster wasn't built to really compete and make a successful playoff run. We saw a couple players get very hot with the bats in July and August that have cooled off in September, and noone else has really picked them up accept Suzuki (one guy can't do it alone). They still may win 84-85 games if they beat up the Pirates and Rockies at home and who knows what the Braves and Brewers will do with regulars if their playoff situation is set, so there a shot at grabbing a couple extra Ws there, so the playoffs are still in their view, I just dont expect them to have much success once there is why winning or losing these games now don't faze me much, I was rooting for them to win the Division but that don't look like it happening now. I'm more looking forward to the offseason seeing if Hoyer is allowed to really spend and add the needed upgrades to this roster then I am to seeing them play any playoff games and likely get their asses kicked.
  8. Yep, it time to shake it up now and see if someone different can provide a spark.. Only thing is CF and 3B are their only openings to do so and what they got for 3B, none of them are new on the current roster. Me, id bring up Slaughter, Mervis, and or Bote and let them DH or play 1B/3B and IL/drop Mastrobuoni, and Wisdom . Start PCA in CF
  9. Yea, someone mentioned about them doing a 6 and 9 scenario to finish the season and how the other wouldn't be able to win 8 or 9 to pass them. It only took 3 games into that scenario for 1 to pass them, another to tie them, and a third to be a half game behind them..lol
  10. It not necessarily change that they need this offseason, it upgrades that they've always needed. The majority of this roster have always needed to be upgraded, and outside of a few with the position players and a few with the pitchers, they dont have any must keep guys on this roster. So, if they do it right and actually try to put together a true contending roster, then the change should be to most of this roster.
  11. Ok, now I can go watch my recordings.. I'll check back for that fake 9th inning rally when the tying run comes to the plate..lol It officially became a sad sports day watching the bears and cubs play today
  12. Different players same looking offense in September for this cubs team, they just go south once September begins.
  13. Wick recovered pretty good after that first inning, and mostly not his fault.
  14. This is their big opportunity to put up a solid crooked number, bases loaded no outs
  15. Marlins are likely gonna be that surprise team we see in the playoffs that pulls off the early upsets to move on.
  16. I don't think he returning to the Angels, and he probably has a team or two that on his wish list.. But, itll likely come down to who offers him the yrs and money, location ( if he prefers to stay west or not), and if he wants to be with a team that already built to win now. I personally think he'll stay out west or Texas/Houston if they make him a solid offer.
  17. I think it fair to say that these last 12-13 games are basically all must wins now with 5 teams fighting for 2 spots.
  18. Wishful thinking but I do feel this offseason will be much better as far as adding talent to both the lineup and pitching. I personally don't think Ohtani will be a part of who they bring in, and a part of me is ok with that as long as they spend that money towards a couple of top notch talent via trading for someone that solid or FA.
  19. Lmao... I thought we were gonna get a lee smith deflection to Bowa for the final out and Boog repeating what Harry said, the good lord even wants the cubs to win
  20. I feel like teams that has 3 or 4 power arms in the pen that have high K %, are probably more successful in extra inning games.
