  1. or both were out for personal reasons and we should let them be.
  2. Well, I bet the Bulls make more money than just about every other team in the NBA. The fans have to stop going, but that hasn't really pushed Reinsdorf to do anything with the Sox. i'm not talking about the business side But it starts with the business side. Reinsdorf is loyal to a fault.
  3. I dunno, there might be plenty of fans expressing congratulations to the Ricketts for their swelling bank accounts, based on the ready defense of billionaires I've seen across Cubs interwebs. I don’t get why people take sides with the owners. I don't get why people attack owners like the Ricketts who are going to spend $220 million on their baseball team this year, the most in the National League. They don't have unlimited money to spend on this team, it's a business.
  4. Nope. Made 3 kicks. Should have made the 4th and deserves blame but this is a collective loss. Defense, offense, ST.
  5. Definitely, the Eagles secondary and linebackers suck, if Brees has the time Mitch had, he'll lay 30+ on those clowns next week. No he wont. But NO will win. Mitch did his horsefeathering job. He got to within a range that every NFL kick should be confident at. Parkey blew it. The Bears blew it by giving him anything beyond this year in money. Draft a horsefeathering kicker. Mitch had one good drive in the 4th when they got the TD and made a nice pass to Robinson in the 4th to get them in FG range. Outside of that, he was pretty mediocre especially in the first half. 15 points (should have been 18) in a home playoff game just isn't good enough, sorry.
  6. This team will always suck
  7. The Cubs are going to have the highest payroll in the NL this year
  8. The cat has random sources around baseball now. Seems legit!
  9. Good for the Brewers if they get him. You guys are pretending the Cubs haven't spent money on this team. They have the #1 payroll in the National League. The truth is, Theo and the baseball ops department are the problem because they HAVE been able to spend money, they've just spent it on mostly garbage outside of Lester. Jason Heyward, Tyler Chatwood, Yu Darvish. You only get so many bullets and you can't screw up that many big money signings. And if Theo knew that signing Darvish last year would hamper their search for free agents this year, that's an ever bigger f***-up than we think.
  10. The politics here and on Twitter are a joke when it comes to paying millionaire athletes. People aren't happy unless millionaires are getting paid more than they're worth and everything is collusion when teams spend wisely. Pretty sure Alex Cobb is gonna survive on his $57 million contract. Are there cheap owners and teams out there? Absolutely. Are the Cubs one of them? Not even close. I don't think people realize what the stricter penalties on the luxury tax have had on paying free agents. Overpaying for guys like Tyler Chatwood prove way more costly when you're losing draft picks in June and can't improve your future.
  11. I remember when the cheap and evil Ricketts paid $600 million for the Wrigley renovations out of their pockets instead of using public money. I also remember when the Cubs had the highest payroll in the NL last season. Go root for the Reds if you think the Cubs are cheap.
  12. The next rumor he gets right will be his first. Is everyone excited for Greg Maddux pitching coach though?
  13. Bears defense deserves a ton of credit but Goff was really bad. Not sure any of those picks were tough plays for the defender.
  14. This is gonna be a 3rd Place team
  15. Didn’t claim he was falsely accused. We don’t know. We don’t have the details from both sides and never will. People are way too quick to choose sides these days whether it’s people running to defend the accuser or running to defend the accused. The truth is, we don’t know. Russell is going to get a second chance and if he fucks up again, he should be gone ASAP. The best we can hope for is he turns his life around, how can anyone be upset with that?
  16. He was accused of other stuff other than physical abuse, at the very least he cheated on his wife.
  17. He denied the allegations from the beginning. My guess is, if he lied about it or went back on it, the Cubs wouldn’t be sticking behind him. Remember, there’s is information out there that you’re never going to see. Did you read his statement? He's not going to a therapist multiple days a week because he did nothing wrong. Do you have a problem with this? Hope he gets the help he needs.
  18. Wasn't his statement on Friday basically an admission of guilt? As far as we know. He denied the allegations from the beginning. My guess is, if he lied about it or went back on it, the Cubs wouldn’t be sticking behind him. Remember, there’s is information out there that you’re never going to see.
  19. The truth is, a lot of you live in your own little echo chamber. It was proven by the Daniel Murphy stuff. The majority of people out there that watch sports, watch it to get away from the general BS out of the outside world. The vast majority of Cubs fans out there were generally happy with getting Murphy when they did but you wouldn’t believe it from here on the Twitter bubble. If you’re going to put together a roster of 25 perfect human beings, it’s either going to be impossible or you’re not gonna win at all.
  20. He's one of the best defensive SS's in baseball and he's still only 24. It's pretty clear he's been affected by the off the field stuff (by his own doing) but when he's good, he has value. Letting Russell go for what is still an accusation (as far as we know) hurts this baseball team going forward whether people like it or not. and FYI, I trust the front office in doing the right thing here. There's stuff that has gone on behind the scenes that people are completely oblivious to.
  21. This guy isn't even faking not being full of horsefeathers
  22. That kind of stuff works against the Lions
