  1. That's good to hear! Is it merely control he's lacking? Meaning location on all pitches or are the breaking pitches not breaking...or both!?
  2. I'll call him tonight and tell him the truth about his wife being in "my five".
  3. I don't have a problem with .08; I do have a problem if they punish a .09 and a .30 with the same severity. A .09 should be fined, have to go to one of those classes, and maybe have a short license suspension. A .30 should be punished with a long license suspension and a larger fine. Its hard to measure it period. Like I said, the numbers effect people differently. My wife has one glass of wine and is one the floor, I can drink far too much and be ok...its strange. But they have to make the law based on some number. You bring up an interesting point. If you speed, you get a fine, if you are over 20+ over the speed limit, dont' you get excessive fines?
  4. Maybe they "turn it up" for Prior and they forgot to turn it back down for the padres.
  5. he is bad, I don't mind his post game though
  6. Where was he in 2003...94mph? I can't remember
  7. Thanks for posting this. I can't believe more people are drilling down into this. To me, it's quite obvious. Wasn't his pitching coach, Tom House busted for juice? get on the HGH
  8. his mechanics are messed up, he dosent look the same as he did in 03 and 04 Could they bring in his USC pitching coach or something, see if he notices something? I'm just grasping at straws, but Rothschild doesn't seem to get through to him.
  9. I don't see why the level of BAC means a thing. .093 would effect me differently then it would the person next to me, you can't just go by "how drunk he was" on that number. The number is merely the law, and he broke the law. Why is it even a debate on how drunk he was? Who cares, he broke the law and he'll pay for it. So if you're playing with a gun and it accidentally goes off and kills someone, you should be punished the same way as if you walk into someone's house and blow their head off? There would be 2 different interpretations of the law in your scenario, no? Not so much with DUI. Why not, though? We punish people differently based on whether they have an ounce of pot, or a Nate Newton-sized stash in their trunk. I'm not saying LaRussa shouldn't be punished, but being as somebody with a BAC of 0.25 is a much greater danger to others than somebody with a 0.09, why shouldn't the punishment be more severe for those who put other lives in greater risk? Drug laws are different because the amounts start brining in aspects of selling it or just personal use. SElling it is obviously much more severe of a punishment. An alcohol level is a different situation because the law is a set minimum amount. Now wheather that level is a good idea, that's a different story.
  10. A 62 year old adult man chooses to drink and get into his automobile its at the risk of himself and the public. He drank enough to 1) be over the legal limit 2) have enough to fall asleep in a car. I don't know why you would equate these two scenarios. What part of his actions were accidental? If he fell asleep and ran over a kid, you think the fact that his BAC was .093 and not .2 would make a lick of difference?
  11. I don't see why the level of BAC means a thing. .093 would effect me differently then it would the person next to me, you can't just go by "how drunk he was" on that number. 12. omg ...don't even speak of such things!
  13. Will they allow you to bring in something like that? I figured they wouldn't. My buddy used to work security at Wrigley, I can ask him
  14. At what point do you think the cubs have enough if he's hurt again this year? Do they keep him in the minors and keep trying, hoping to keep his right, or do they after another year of injuries (if that happens), say enough is enough. I hope he returns to his former self, but I'm far from thinking it'll happen. I'd put him in AAA for now and hope for the best.
  15. ....which is probably why he pulled over. Yes, it's a bad thing. Maybe Tony should visit a clinic or something. I thought he was asleep at a stoplight
  16. I can't believe how happy I am to see this fact!
  17. Theriot has done everything they have asked of him with a good amount of success since getting a chance with the cubs. If this continues, he'll play his way into the lineup on a consistant basis. I really believe a major push will come from the fans and media if Derosa doesn't succeed early which might force the issue. I'm ok with trying Derosa, but i'd rather Theriot play. I'm getting the Jersey: The Riot 2
  18. I've had mine for 6 months or so and no problems besides online connection problems...but that could be the router. The machine has acted normally and hasn't frozen, scratched discs or anything like that.
  19. Can we not bring up Neifi Perez ever again?
  20. I'll be eager to read Lou's comments after the game. Even though I wasn't counting on Prior, I'm still sad to see what's happend to him. He just seemed liek such the real deal, something so rare and special. Not just good, special.
  21. Its nice to see young talent on the cubs stepping up and creating his own opportunity isn't it? :)
  22. Bruce hasn't posted a lineup yet! Its like he has a job to do or something. Slacker
