That's been a problem with CBS since we started the league and a huge reason for the minor league draft. It seems like they have fallen further behind on adding minor leaguers this season even than in years past. There are quite a few good minor leaguers that are not in the database that have been playing for at least two seasons in the minors.
Ditto! I offered Stanton, Venters, Singleton, Gibson and 1st pick in prospect draft. I'm thinking the 2nd round pick in the regular draft put Adam over the top in the sweepstakes.
This is correct. Although there's a bit of inconsistency; the exemption limit is 50 plate appearances, but the minor league eligibility limit is 200 at-bats. Agree - it doesn't make sense. We should have one or the other as the standard. The way this is setup you could have a player losing years of exemptions while playing in the minor leagues. That doesn't make much sense unless I'm missing something.
I picked up Vance Worley to replace Volquez who was sent to minors. Looks like now I'll actually have to use him with the loss of De La Rosa most likely for the year.
The scoring system probably isn't smart enough to decipher whether starting pitchers are accumulating relief points or starting points, and most leagues would probably allow points like that regardless of where they came from. I'll remove the points. We had the same issue in my other league. We removed the points as well.
My best waiver wire pickups have been Alex Avila (2nd highest scoring catcher) and Ryan Madson. Jed Lowrie hasn't been too bad either replacing the awful Aaron Hill at 2B.
Last season at this point I had the worst record in the league but was 3rd in scoring. This season I am tied for best record in the league but 14th in scoring.
i say take him, if anyone else wanted him they would have/should have requested that he be added. I don't think players should be allowed to be aquired until they are added into the datebase by CBS. That's what the waiver wire system is for and/or the prospect draft. When adding "dummy" players into the datebase it just messes things up when they are finally added by CBS.
Normally yes but this season there seems to be more injuries early so there has been more activity on the wire to find the hot hand especially at positions like 2B, 3B and SS.
Adding one more reserve spot is not going to make the waiver wire garbage. yes it will. take the top 16 available free agents out of the free agent pool and it will obviously be a worse selection of players. Worse and garbage are two different things. Obviously it would be worse but certainly good enough to still work with. Try a 16-team league same as this one with 8 bench spots and 4 DL spots. Talk about a garbage waiver wire!! It makes it fun though to find that diamond in the rough.
