  1. They're playing a 6'4" 230-pounder at second tonight and he's never played second base in a game in his life. they seem to be a pretty shrewd FO so I guess i give them the benefit of the doubt that he won't be a tire fire there. and even if he is ... all they've gotten out of the position this year is a literal tire fire so it's fine. We're supposed to be running away with the division with all the talent advantage we have but largely thanks to the chess moves everyone loves to mock Stearns ran circles around us with their moves this winter. Between just Cain, Yelich, and Chacin they got 10x the war we have from our haul.
  2. I understand the concern in not having the pen to last 5 more innings but I probably wouldn't have let him face Molina again
  3. Of course that POS makes the greatest catch of his career
  4. Ugh Yadi posting a higher OPS than Willy makes me angry
  5. They also DFA’d Tyler Lyons and sent Brett Cecil to the DL. This is as good a time as any to remind everyone that the Cards still owe Cecil $15M the next two years. We clown this as we get robbed of 26m from Chatcrap
  6. This scrappy middle infielder posted a 328/412/522 in his first 150 PA Can you name him?
  7. Apparently the pitcher not named Lacy or the PBTNL is not a prospect. Maybe Rob Z?
  8. So it's Lacy and a PBTNL This could turn out to be a rather shrewd move
  9. They said that and Joe also said he believes that players who grow up in places like Colorado where there's no year-round baseball tend to mature later than others. He's a big fan; not sure if enough to fully supplant 3AM but here's hoping. I saw on twitter he’s at .8 WAR. He’s a good baseball player and the FO has said they liked him a lot with some of his batted ball profile/exit velo stuff in the minors
  10. When you go from a pitcher with a 8+ BB9 to one with a 7 BB9
  11. So is Kevin Tolliver. He could be nice insurance if our CBs can't stay healthy... which is probable
  12. I almost entirely browse on mobile and fg blows br off the map in terms of navigation simplicity there.
  13. He hit 99 tonight as well. I think he's our best (at least most intriguing) pitching prospect at the moment. Gotta love the command and BB rates for a guy with his stuff. Wonder how aggressive they will be in pushing him? Oh my. If that is true that is massive. And he's throwing a high % of strikes too. Fast track him.
  14. Damn that was a fabulous moment
  15. Our boys represented hard, didn't just pull everything
  16. Let's shift the discussion to Nico. This dudes a horsefeathering badass. I'm gonna go to the extreme but I can see some Mookie Betts in his game. Obviously has a great eye at the plate and does not whiff much.
  17. I frankly think it's horsefeathering amazing that our offense is still atop the league even with so few dongs. We're like, playing an advanced game of smallball, putting together great ABs and 'manufacturing runs'. For our position players to still be producing OPS among teams with 50-60 more dongs than us is incredible.
  18. I don't remember specifics like you guys but yeah 08 was just a ton of fun until the playoffs. I remember that stretch where we faced a bunch of aces and knocked em out in 5 or less innings. I also remember breaking my phone when Crawford of all people hit a granny against us and the Rays swept us.
