  1. Bryant really needs to use the right side more if hes missing most of his power
  2. Our guys need to take cues on what to do with those get-me-over curveballs they all love to take for strikes
  3. Because if they're sucking for a while, and word gets out they've been sick and/or injured, there's a good chance the two are related. And yet the Cubs rarely seem to put position players on IL. The Cubs will use IL for their pitchers when they have to, but it seems like they are bizarrely averse to using for position players unless they flat out can't play. I seriously doubt they're magically luckier than almost every other team out there when it comes to player health. Bryant, Zobrist, Russell and Contreras are all key examples of players in recent seasons who clearly needed to heal up, and they just kept trotting them out there well past the point it was obvious something was wrong, like they were going to get better if they played hard enough. They actually did it with Rizzo also, let him play through a back injury that saw him hitting like a pitcher. Plus, you just dont horsefeathers around with knee injuries, IMO. They also had Descalso play for 2 months after spraining his ankle. Even if he didn't play every single day he still had to go to the park, take BP and FP, etc.
  4. Their avoidance of the IL is so frustrating. They think, oh we can't afford to be without KB in the lineup for 10-15 days... but really, he's given a 230 wOBA over the last 11 games... so is it better to have them play through it and not get the appropriate rest and treatment all while getting nowhere near the normal production, rather than sucking it up with Bote and a Russell or Machado to help fill in for 10 or so days? It seems to make no sense at all to me. Every time we keep trotting these injured players out there they play like shells of their regular selves.
  5. I heard from someone listening to Waddle and Sylvy that they were taking with Rogers who suggested it could be Kimbrel
  6. From a purely visual standpoint this reminds me of... Sweetness. I'm sure some will take that as fantasy but that's what I see. Legs churning, the helmet lowered into the defenders chest, and using the low center of gravity as leverage, always falling forward with multiple players needed to tackle him. Just hope he can stay healthy because hes going to absorb a lot of damage.
  7. https://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?playerid=16478&position=OF&statArr=35&legend=1,2&split=base&time=daily&ymin=&ymax=&start=2017&end=2019&rtype=mult&gt1=15&dStatArray= Kyle Schwarber has never struck out this seldomly. Is it Joe picking his battles more wisely? 70 2nd half PA and he has an 11.3 K rate, a 395 woba, with a ludicrous 156 BABIP.
  8. Of course the Dodgers hammer Paddack in a slugfest and then walk off on Kirby Yates.
  9. Good lord I dont know who creates those cretins in some of these Twitter threads.
  10. Almora now has a higher OPS than Cain lol
  11. We're just chomping at the bit to swing at trash
  12. Hard contact is good but up the middle against these guys it's generally going to lead to frustrating outs
  13. Wick just has to dial in those walks a little bit. Definitely has the stuff to be a cheap mainstay for us for the next couple years.
  14. Phillies and Pale Hose in the 15th inning. Vince Velasquez is playing LF while Roman Quinn is pitching. Velasquez just missed an assist on a laser to the plate and then followed it up with a 5 star diving catch. 15% catch probability. It was the first 5 star catch for the Phillies this year lol
  15. How about if they're doing it again only with our best player, again?
  16. I'm hoping we get James Rowson back.
  17. You clung on till the bitter end last season so I would expect no different... But our core guys better snap out of this. This is a broken offense as of right now. There's no way around it. These guys are very slow to make adjustments.
