  1. I looked at his statcast numbers the other day and one thing he definitely has going for him is he crushes breaking balls at 95 AEV. If he cuts the whiffs down on those and offspeed he could be quite a hitter.
  2. He was horrible for a couple months but over his last 50 PA he hit 300 with a 400 OBP. It's just too bad Kemp is out of options because that guy sucks and is wasting a roster spot right now.
  3. Haha Hader blew it real quick. Runners at 2nd and 3rd with no out, 1 run in
  4. It's amazing that Orlando Arcia continues to hang around while Stearns has upgraded the heck out of that offense the last couple years.
  5. Aquino just helped us with a 2 out 3 run bomb off of Mikolas Kid isn't slowing down at all
  6. Brault has thrown 95% 2 seam and 4 seams. This is the most pathetic display of hitting imaginable with that attack.
  7. I get that those hitters have their weak sides but Kintzler has been absolute nails against LHB so I think the move was fine. He just couldnt come close enough to the plate to elicit a swing once he got 2 strikes. That’s still sub optimal. The hitters are worse vs lefties than righties and Ryan is neutral. Kintzler also doesn’t “get swings.” And we put in a worse defender at 3B for no reason when we brought in contact/GB guys. This whole thing is on Joe tonight. Kintzler was fresh off the IL for this and was brought in to a mess, Joe horsefeathers it up. Oh I'm totally on the same page with regards to Bote but I won't be convinced on Kintzler. I'll just leave it at that, no need to continue.

  9. Theo should fire Jed and step down really. This season is going exactly as last year did only they're not waiting until September to blow it.
  10. Anyone know what happened to Machado? Hes barely played lately.
  11. Darvish needed to pitch the 8th and Wick the 9th Strop looks to be finished. He cant throw all sliders and cutters that have a 1 or 2 mph differential and be successful. If his fastball is toast, so is he, IMO. Really sad but he tends to not be at his best when the season is winding down.
  12. Wasn't there a team semi recently that fired their manager when they were in first place in August? If not, can we be the first?
  13. Like the prospect Almora who would miss games to nagging injuries, made contact but not show much in the way of secondary skills, got most of his hype on being a Theo First Rounder, hit his best early and in leagues wherever everyone else hit too, but otherwise really just needed time to develop. So the mediocre starter we hoped Almora to be before he collapsed I do think Hoerner's a marginally better prospect than that, stronger and he's hitting flyballs this year that can translate. Still, just looks like the ceiling is a second division starter whose most valuable attributes to the Cubs are in his prospect ranking, proximity to the MLs compared to their more talented prospects, and contract status Your M.O. seems to be to downplay every prospect getting national recognition and to attempt to unearth the hidden gems in the system so you can prop yourself up when/if they become names. You go on and on about prospect K rates and Nico has just one in his last 65 PAs but not a mention. Hes hitting very well in a tough league and hes suffered injuries but not actually of the 'nagging' variety, IMO; those to me are muscle pulls, strains, etc, not actual breaks in bones from getting hit by balls. Almora took a 2nd tour through AA to finally crack the 7% walk threshold; the first time through he took 2 in 140 PA, albeit at the ripe age of 21. But nobody in their right mind would compare their level of patience/ discipline. Nico is a year removed from being drafted and his numbers are likely to blow up in a juiced league. You want us to care about Faustino Carrera reaching 300 innings but make no mention of him being in his 4th season in the system at 20 years old; something you've basically used as your platform for tearing down the Marquez hype... and Marquez reached that height first btw. No mention of it being of particular note. I mean, come on.
  14. Long is a [expletive]. I'm hoping there's a solid post camp cap casualty that the Bears can bring in and just cut bait. Hes not worth his salary anymore. Dude has played 26 games over the last 3 years.
  15. Sick and tired of seeing this buffoon on bended knee
  16. I swear Rizzo has stopped swinging at fastballs only to ramp up his aggressiveness against curves barreling toward the dirt
