    Struck out swinging 1st AB Against a rehabbing Luke Weaver. Rough draw for a pro debut for the 18 year old. True. Saw Weaver in the box score and just figured they had another horsefeathering brother coming up the ranks or something lol

    I made the 10 millionth post on PSD back in 2014 (or maybe it was 2013, whatever) and they gave me a reward of any jersey of my choosing. I chose a white Starlin jersey. Went against my first thought of getting a HOF like Sayers (already have/had Payton), MJ (wanted the cursive '85), or Banks. That's the last time I acquired a jersey of a player in any sport.

    Yeah I look at the numbers and then the more recent reports and I see people project a 4 and I'm like wth I get that he's 24 but it's not like he's been repeating levels and languishing. His stats are ridiculous.

    There was a Tweet on Friday that had when everyone we traded for last pitched that I really wish I had saved. But most of the guys pitched mid week last week, so we'll see them all get starts likely in the next 2-3 days. I think the exception is Bailey Horn, who I believe got put on the Development List. (Basically it's like the IL but instead of being hurt you go hang out in the Pitch Lab for a few weeks.) Thank you

    I saw somebody claiming to have some inside knowledge on the matter say that the MRI the Mets received was unreadable, there was so much scar tissue in there, and that he received over a dozen cortisone and other inflammation-suppressing shots over his time at Vanderbilt.

    Never in my life did I expect to be excited over a comment like that. Before this past season it would have made me scream.

    They're afraid to pitch to Caissie. I wish we could see his chase rate. It's gotta be like single digits lol

    I would like Madrigal a whole lot more if he worked on cutting down his chase rate. Take some walks. Like, I'm fairly certain he will never elevate the ball, and, frankly, we probably don't want him to. His 85 EV makes for a [expletive] of dying quails. He will have to keep his pound the ground approach, really. Just hope he maintains his speed and gets enough hustle doubles or something. I wonder if they believe Heuer can start.

    I remember when we finally traded Dempster. We got this guy who nobody had heard of. There was a lot of dismay going around the Cubweb. Then some researched that guy, and, despite really good numbers, the scouting reports made the critics even more sour. A few years later that guy pitched 5 shutout innings in game 7 of the World Series. This trade kind of reminds me of that one, only Killian's reports are much more exciting. I mean his numbers are ridiculous. I'm gonna give this one some time. But he was certainly the "get" in the deal IMO.

    It's pretty amazing that 4 of probably the best 5 Cubs that most of us had the pleasure of watching during our lifetimes came via wholly lopsided trades. I'd say that includes Cashner for Rizzo DeJesus for Sandberg Bell for Sosa Hill for Ramirez Hell, then you got Choi for Lee, Feldman for Jake, Demp for Hendricks, junk for Fergie It's like, besides KB, you had Maddux, and fan-favorite-but-probably-overrated Mark Grace, and have to go back 60 damn years to the Banks/Williams era to find legit amazing homegrown talent. Its pretty amazing how poorly the Cubs drafted for that long. Somehow they managed some truly awesome trades. I'll never forget Rizzo. He changed our entire perception of the franchise at the time. He lived up to the billing. He made our most outrageous dreams come true. He rarely lost his zeal and he was able to joke and goof around during the most pressure-packed situation really any ball player had been a part of. I talk a lot of horsefeathers during games and I've said some dumb horsefeathers about him before but I wasn't us to sign him back so badly. He really needs to retire a Cub.

    The term GOAT is ridiculous. In any case, she can still be the best ever and not be able to compete. It's her choice. Agree 100%

    I'm certainly not ripping her to shreds. Just commenting on what's going on. I no longer care at all about the Olympics or our country's standing in global athletics. I could see how it's possible her mental health is in a poor state due in part to her reading the criticisms of her on social media, and I believe some of that could have been self-imposed when you declare yourself the GOAT in such fashion. Obviously something like that will draw heavy scrutiny. She sure is one of, if not the GOAT, but I think something like that is just unnecessary. You don't see many athletes make those declarations like that.

    She said it's hard going in there and being the "head star" but yet she has goats printed into her leotards. Also pulling out of the all-around to focus on her mental health.

    Obviously not a hot take. Looks like Jed really pulled some great talent in that deal in him and Caissie. Caissie's numbers are outrageous. So excited to see what those guys do next year.

    Fangraphs makes it sound like a late signing and no injuries Ok, thanks for this. That's good news. Seems like a good trade, though Deichmann's shrinking ISO is a little disconcerting. Clearly a platoon bat ATM but we'll see what the future holds and if that huge production vs RHP translates I won't have any complaints.

    Any idea of his injury history? Made his pro debut on 6/15. Looks like a piggybacker. I like the grades on his fb and cu though.
