  1. This team is simply not good enough to beat Minnesota. 2nd pick is a lock.
  2. Zach has really cut down on the TOs lately. Just 11 in his last 7 games. Not trying to force the action as much. Maintaining that with the hyper efficiency makes for quite a player.
  3. Zach is going crazy tonight and yet we could very well sandwich a win vs the Bucks with losses to last place teams. Defense is straight up trash.
  4. How many starters do you guys think we need at minimum? Seems like an entire DL, which is such a massive task. Sanborn works for me, but we could probably stand to upgrade from Morrow in the LB unit. Our corners might be good behind a suitable DL. I maybe wouldn't prioritize safety but if a clear upgrade is available then I'm sure we'll take a swing. Probably RB, WR, and 3 OL, needed for the offense. Basically need 10 new starters?
  5. Eovaldi could end up with the same deal Bassitt got. He gets 2/34 that becomes 2/40 if he pitches 150+ innings in each of those years, and that would trigger a player option for 23m for 2025. The freaking Braves are already extending Murphy to 6/73. He gets 4 this year, 9 next, and then 15 for the next 4. Braves hold an option for 15 in 2029.
  6. Knicks horrendous FT shooting blew the game
  7. They were the only team not on the west coast to at least get him to attend a meeting/presentation with us IIRC
  8. there's definitely hope and good reasons to be hopeful, but I am disappointed with with Poles has done FA wise to date. At least we didn't get saddled with the Ogunjobi contract, I guess. FWIW he has a 61 overall grade this year.
  9. What's he gonna throw, maybe 10-15 passes in that weather? I'm in favor of sitting him.
  10. That's like 4x as much as they got for Betts
  11. On PSD there are a lot of non-believers who have started to believe in the last few weeks. Many comments on him flashing elite skills and just being in awe of what he's done behind that line with no noteworthy targets.
  12. If only Mbappe had converted that header right around the 120 mark. so close
  13. Yeah I checked in for the Bears pre-game and a half hour later I was like, ok I think I get it. That was absolutely exhilarating. I have to believe they captured some new fans with that game.
  14. Cubs just made a pretty big statement that they want to get more flyball oriented hitters. I doubt they even kick the tires on Hosmer. 57% GB last year, 3 LA, diminishing EV. I don't see him as an option.
  15. Well, to start, as that post clearly says, it's Instagram, not Twitter. To answer your question, if a profile is set to public and not private, you can see all of their follows and followers without following them. Do you get a notification when somebody you are following gets a new follower? I guess I'm just wondering why some shlub is checking Alex Cora's followers.
  16. Im not a Twitter guy so forgive me for the naivete but how does horsefeathers like that even get discovered?
  17. Motherducker I wish that was us
  18. How the hell do you give up 144 points to the Bulls
  19. They're still taking to Smyly. I'm pretty much expecting him to be their final SP add.
  20. Most of our lineup was on that dust that year. Cubs OBP went 333, 354, 333 from 07-09. 08 was unlike anything we had experienced before with the whole lineup working counts and taking walks. In the regular season, of course. it sucks the postseason was canceled that year. And coming right off the postseason cancellations of 03 and 04. Glad baseball survived. The reverberations from the canceled 04 postseason still echo in the Cubs clubhouse
  21. That may go down as the most befuddling turn of events in my Cubs-fan life. It was like for one year, with one guy, we somehow got a hold of the pixie dust ourselves for once. Most of our lineup was on that dust that year. Cubs OBP went 333, 354, 333 from 07-09. 08 was unlike anything we had experienced before with the whole lineup working counts and taking walks. In the regular season, of course.
  22. Bellinger was a nice addition because the position is a wasteland and his floor is reasonable even when he can't hit. Taillon adds depth so they can ease the Iowa guys in. They're not exciting but they're good moves for the roster IMO.
  23. Honestly I look at the list and get a little disappointed that Brooks Lee could have been somewhere on it too
  24. He’s a free agent. They could franchise him, which would make him no longer inexpensive, and still leave them with no long-term solution and thus likely still wanting to draft a qb. Otherwise he hits the open market and who knows? I was thinking he might get some 2/40-2/50 offers. Seems like a reasonable risk.
  25. Man am I crazy for saying I would roll with Geno until the wheels fall off? He's gonna be half as expensive as top tier QBs. He's thrown 450 passes with Seattle and has basically been amazing. INT% is minuscule, QBR is solid, his rating has been fantastic. He's still sort of young too.
