  1. Jordan Lawler will make his debut vs the Cubs.
  2. 11 runs from SB in the 4th inning, up 22-4 now. Franklin was in the hole to make his 3rd PA of the inning when Alcantara Kd to end the ambush.
  3. Most definitely. I would like to see the video on that one. South Bend has 18 runs and it's just the 4th. All the prospects are doing damage in that one, even Rivera homered.
  4. Mariners appropriately destroyed Lyon Richardson
  5. Those detractors have made this season a bit more enjoyable. I love the fact that they were so right about a lot of things (Mancini, Hosmer, Taillon,) but we have basically gotten the 95% outcomes from others like Dansby and Bellinger, and then plenty of internal improvement to rise above and be a greater than the sum of the parts team. It's pretty clear that this FO deserves a lot of credit for believing in the roster they were building and sticking to their plan, and developing specific unique skills they identified to get contributions from all over the roster. The game-planning has definitely felt like 2015-2016 levels, pitching to Alonso and Robert notwithstanding, and the players deserve a lot of props for buying in and executing at such a high level. The general impressions of the team between NSBB and PSD were vastly different. On here most of the posters expected a team that would be slightly above 500 and with a couple fortunate breaks, could be buyers at the deadline and on PSD they were damn near locks to have another firesale and be back to square one in the winter. So many times we heard how they would be wasting the best seasons of Swanson's contract and that even the best case scenario from Bellinger wouldn't help the team much. We'd be rich if we got a dollar for every time that argument was made.
  6. Killian seemed like he was possibly turning the corner before these last 2 starts. So much for that. PCA is definitely getting a crash course on weaknesses to work on for next year. Vazquez had another really strong day, including another jack.
  7. [Brent Musberger]we know Tom, we know[/Brent Musberger]
  8. I feel like these plays are becoming too damn common. I used to expect runners to beat them out but they are usually outs these days.
  9. Hmm, a hit by a lefty off a lefty. Preposterous!
  10. I'd be losing it if I were a Giants fan. They are making great contact and have basically had the leadoff guy on damn near every inning. Hahaha.
  11. But he's a RHB. Conventional wisdom says only they are allowed to face LHP.
  12. Doing a great job of making up for this horrid day at work
  13. And the best OPS in the 2nd half on the team 😉
  14. horsefeathers yea Seiya clears the bases with a double
  15. Its uncommon but the Phillies did it last year. I don't know that this has been the most resilient Cubs team but it's been a thrill to watch over the last couple months. Early in the season they were awful in high-leverage situations both at the plate and on the mound. It felt like they were gonna come up just short and the pen couldn't hold a 1 run lead for horsefeathers and the hitters just couldn't push that tying run over even though they would usually pile up base runners. They are now 19-18 in one-run games but this team really should be on pace for ~100 wins if not for the struggles in HLS. All year they have been among the best teams in just about every significant facet and as we all know they had way more blowout wins than losses (29-17). They've won a lot of series against postseason contenders and at least showed they belonged, although they didn't dominate any of them. But they had one stretch of 2-3 weeks where they really looked out of their depth. Aside from that they have been a really good team.
  16. Much needed reinforcement. Things are coming along nicely. They are clearly trying to rest the relievers that have carried the load whenever possible. Can't wait to see a power lefty in the pen at last.
  17. Yes please get the cycle it's been too effing long
  18. Is that Morel's first homer since we were 10 under? Sure feels like it.
  19. Oh man Seiya destroyed that! Dude is scorching hot 🔥🥵
