  1. Dude I'm talking the whole time about Mooney not breaking back but that Fields still could have hit him at the :7 mark. Definitely not throwing to Moore.
  2. Now that I see it's Moore in the foregorund you can see how dejected he looks. But Fields is looking at Mooney and expecting him to break back to the ball. Should have been a decent completion. Even without Mooney doing that, at the :7 mark Fields had an opportunity for a big pass. Just couldn't pull the damn trigger, as always.
  3. Can't wait til we learn the sophisticated sign-stealing system they're using a few years from now. Oh hey there's 30 year old Orlando Arcia hitting a career-high in HR and Ronald Acuna cutting his career K% in half. Rest is overrated.
  4. This is trait that all receivers should have and doubly so when your QB often leaves the box.
  5. That deep receiver, if he had started coming back to the ball instead of drifting slightly upfield, may have opened a nice window to throw. Was that Moore? You see your QB scrambling for his life - start running back to the ball and make a play.
  6. This is what I feel like I have seen since the Mets series, with a few exceptions. It feels like that was the tipping point for the offense.
  7. I would have voted for a different position player, probably PCA or Alcantara
  8. That was so much worse for me because we still had most of our horses IIRC and were firmly in our championship window. They still felt like a team that could compete in the postseason. This years team had too many critical injuries to the pen that a couple weeks ago I started to lose that "well anything can happen in October" feeling. This years offense struggled like horsefeathers when teams cut the four seams and started cutting and sinking more. Our guys got shut down by a string of friggin nobodies that the rest of the league treated like nobodies.
  9. He just averaged 32 mpg with a 59% TS at 33 years old. Did I miss some mysterious tweet or something?
  10. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/mike-trout-is-probably-staying-in-anaheim/ What would make it a route you wish the Cubs would take? I personally have a really hard time seeing Trout not far surpassing those ZiPS. No way do I see him as a 110 hitter in 5 years. Maybe I'm blind but I think he's safely a 140-150 hitter over the next 5, but how much he plays is the hang-up. Would you trade PCA, Alcantara, or Shaw for him if he comes with $7/150?
  11. Trade Williams and picks for Holliday
  12. The whole season counts and it's definitely not an awful team. A better Manager has them in the playoffs, even with the steep dropoff the last couple months.
  13. Y'all are holding onto false hopes anyway. Should have won more games against ****** teams in the seasons most pivotal month.
  14. You know, it's ok to issue an IBB once in a while, no matter who is behind him. Ross probably called 5x as many bunts as IBB this year.
  15. No, Daniel, just because it's 99 mph doesn't mean you can throw it right down the middle
  16. Dude is not exactly pumping 98 out there. Bad ABs. Though the Gomes hit was a joke anyway.
  17. I'm thinking Acuna scored either way if he or Nico knock it down but to see neither of them even leave their feet is annoying as hell.
  18. Taillon is a solid pitcher. The misfortune he had early this season was epic. Ran like a 50% LOB for 3 months. He's gonna be fine during his contract. I wouldn't be surprised if he was tipping some as well.
  19. Some pitchers are built for the rigors and some aren't. Gooden, Clemens, Felix, Seaver, etc. These guys came as 19-20 year olds and doubled their lifetime-high IP and went on to have 20 year careers. You never know if you have a physical specimen like that unless you put the workload on them. Having a hard line stance like the Verducci effect is IMO pretty dumb. Wood had terrible mechanics and only had a healthy season as a SP like twice. Steele is friggin 28. Baby stepping with a dude that age is pretty absurd to me.
  20. Without Seiya this team probably wins 20 games over the last 2 months. He has been an absolute monster at the plate.
  21. Honestly looked like he was ready to cry on the field. I don't have anything bad to say about him. It just sucks on so many levels though.
  22. He didn't camp under it. He lollygagged. He should have gotten far more underneath it.
