  1. This is horsefeathering awesome! That is all.
  2. How many fastballs did Heyward see there? Seven or eight? What a complete failure.
  3. Jason, you can wipe away a whole season's worth of fan hatred by hitting a long ball here.
  4. I don't know if it was intentional, but if so, what an incredible heads up play by Addy to block the bag there. Wow!
  5. In the scenario where you have three really bad hitters in the lineup, do the numbers say it's better to have them bat 7-8-9 so that, in theory, the better hitters get more at bats, or is it optimal to balance the lineup a bit and spread the crap out?
  6. I like to think of Contreras pounding his chest doing everyday things - gets a good parking spot, chest pound. Only has to wait a few minutes before the doctor is ready to see him, pounds his chest and he's hops up off the chair. Train arrives five seconds after he walks to the platform, pounds his chest. I love Willson's chest pounding, if you can't tell.

Not really. The only times I really lurked where to see Fred's stats and get a better understanding of that game's matchups. I read several Cubs blogs/forums/etc to know enough about Cubs fans thoughts on Lackey, but the Dickbag McHorseteeth thing is new to me. Either way... it's time for him to do literally the only thing he was signed to do - win a playoff game.
  8. I guess you've missed the Lackey narrative on the site this year. Guess so. I originally disliked the Lackey signing not from a "I don't like the acquisition" perspective but instead a "how can I root for this person" one, but he's grown on me.
  9. You know you're in a rut when you get PH for by Jason Heyward... down four runs... with two outs and the bases empty. And of course Heyward strikes out and looks pathetic doing so.
  10. You have no idea what you're talking about and are completely making things up. Buzz off. Totally made both these posts up viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1029&p=105004#p105004 Heh, so I did. Mildly creepy that you remember a random comment I made eight days ago, but whatever. I still maintain that the Cubs offense is way too good to get beat by Rich Hill. Aggravating game.
  11. Umm... okay? Please point me to where I said anything of the sort... Please don't make me bother You have no idea what you're talking about and are completely making things up. Buzz off.
  12. Umm... come again? Maybe saying "I'm not worried about rich [expletive] hill" despite his obscene strikeout rate and his like 2 era like he was some scrub was misguided. I'm not sure but maybe. Umm... okay? Please point me to where I said anything of the sort...
  13. Maybe your blind hubris in the face of facts was misguided. Umm... come again?
  14. I can't believe we can't get a hit off of Rich God damn Hill of all people. Christ.
  15. Agreed that the default lack of transparency is annoying, but it's very easy to make two clicks and have the prices show the all in cost.
  16. Exactly this. I appreciate watching a well played, tightly contested Cubs game. But I'm ready for a game in which we just bludgeon the other team. Seems like it's been awhile.
  17. Probably because Soler did outplay Heyward this year (at the plate), has a crapload of power that is kind of missing from this lineup outside of Bryzzo and Javy, had an .864 OPS since Aug 1st (not including 0-6 in the playoffs so far, too lazy to do the math) and had an OPS against lefties that was 230 points higher than Heywards in 2016. If you want to argue that its not worth benching Heyward against a lefty because of the drop off in defense, that's fine. But saying that he'll probably be just as bad at the plate as Heyward against a lefty is silly. check out their splits against the dodgers and at LA. Heyward has outhit him in both instances. Now, why exactly, idk, and sample size, but it seems to me that playing Heyward might make as much sense for his bat then his D. Looking past the fact that Soler has 7 career at bats in Dodger Stadium... how is this at all relevant?
  18. Yeah, I wouldn't say "inexcusable", but it would have been nice to give Almora or Soler a shot there. Heyward's numbers against Kershaw are off the charts bad. Joe probably didn't want to lose Heyward's defense in a 1 run game. I would. Up until a few pitches before that at bat, Kershaw was tossing a perfect game. Combine with the fact that Heyward has struggled mightily against Kershaw (and everyone else) and it just seems so painfully obvious that that was your one chance to scratch something across.
  19. I'm not a game thread participant while games are happening, so this was probably beaten to death but... WTF was Joe thinking by not pinch hitting for Heyward in the 5th? That's inexcusable.
  20. If the Cubs win this one, with Jake Arrieta looming for game three, I feel like this series will be all but over. With Cyle on the mound at home, I don't care who the other team throws out - Cubs should win. I suspect that Zobrist will start over Heyward in RF with Jorge in LF. Wouldn't be surprised to see Baez and Russell swap in the order given how poorly Addy has been hitting.
  21. Not being ticket police here, but just asking for future reference. How did you use 4 emails? Don't they specify only 1 entry per person? Each email address u use is considered "1 person." There's nothing stopping you from making a couple hundred different emails and thus being looked at as a few hundred separate people signing up. I think it's more than just that - I think they look at names/addresses/something else as well. I registered with my personal email, work email, wife's email and son's email - the only email that didn't get a response was my work email (which had the same info as my personal email, whereas the wife and son's email were different names, obviously).
