  1. Well, we can take solace in the fact that we're probably not one of the teams that's contacted him. I don't know why a team would contact him or consider drafting him.
  2. That hurt... This L hurts a lot more for some reason.
  3. Yesss!!!! BAEZ IS A [expletive] HERO! THANK YOU BAEZ!
  4. Can Heyward pull an 'Ichiro' and maybe we kick him upstairs so he can join the Cubs Front Office?
  5. Lester did not want to challenge Gyorko at all. I get it, but some of those pitches were pointless and no where near the strike zone.
  6. Did you watch Pablo Sandoval pitch like a week ago in that blowout game? This sounds crazy, but he actually looked pretty good on the mound. Seriously, like no joke. I definitely think Sandoval is a better pitcher than hitter at this point in his career lol.
  7. [tweet]https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/992849259513962497[/tweet] He's a lock to go 1-1 so this didn't really move the needle. I guess he could demand full slot value from the Tigers now.
  8. What? He isn't pinch hitting for Wacha here? Okay...
  9. Or Hunter Pence. Who would you rather punch?? Hunter Pence just looks really goofy to me. He seems like a really nice guy in real life. I can think of other players I'd much rather punch or kick in the nuts. I know he doesn't play in MLB anymore, but I would punch Jonathan Papelbon in the face without hesitation.
  10. Bote started at SS the other night, I don’t think he really is projected to be more than an emergency back up SS at the ML level but I think he’s plenty athletic. Yeah, something went wrong if Bote is starting at short in the big leagues. It’s definitely an emergency-only situation. In the minors, utility guys will play tougher positions (SS, CF) a lot more than he ever will in the majors. Yeah, I know Bote is only playing SS to get some experience. I think DeRosa was actually a passable SS at the big league level in his younger days. DeRosa was very underrated before he joined the Cubs.
  11. This is frustrating and I'm not talking about the rain...
  12. I like him and liked his approach when he was up. He seems like a 2nd division starter or bench player on a good team. If Happ doesn’t get it going I wouldn’t mind Bote coming up for him while Happ gets reset in Iowa. I see a bit of DeRosa in him. DeRosa was better on defense and more athletic. I mean I haven't watched Bote enough to be absolutely sure, but I remember DeRosa was very good defensively at 2B and 3B.
  13. Okay start so far. I was hoping for a bigger inning, but I think we'll get to Wacha eventually.
  14. He's 5-5 on the day. Bote is legit in my mind. I think he could start at second for some teams. He didn't look great in his short time with the Cubs, but he looked WAY better than Zagunis.
  15. If they kept that group together they would have gone to multiple NBA Finals. It's weird looking back, but the way they used Harden was less than optimal by bringing him off the bench to play with the second unit. He wasn't really a starter during his time with the Thunder. Also, the 'Big 3' for the Thunder looked like it was going to be Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka. Ibaka was a great defender with an improving outside shot before he started regressing. It was a massive blunder on the Thunder's part for breaking up that incredible triumvirate, but I didn't think Harden was this good or ever capable of winning an MVP. Sidenote: This is a fitting punishment for how they screwed over the city of Seattle and Supersonics fans. Seattle deserves an NBA team. They wouldn't have been able to afford to keep that team together long term Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka and Harden? Yeah, they wouldn't have been able to afford that group. Durant, Westbrook and Harden? I'm pretty sure they could afford to keep those three and surround them with inexpensive vets and some players on rookie contracts. I mean right now or this season they were paying a good amount for Westbrook, George and Carmelo.

  17. Me in public: Me in my man cave: Just wait till Eloy starts hitting bombs for the Sox. This will be me in a diner in the city contemplating why we traded him:
  18. Addison is too high. Addison and Happ back to back is no bueno. This is a weird lineup.
  19. That sucks. I thought he would move quickly as a late-inning reliever.
