  1. I largely agree with DeRozan and think standing pat is the way to go before the trade deadline. I don't know what the ceiling is for Patrick Williams, but he is our youngest player w/ the potential to become an All-Star type player. I'm not sure how likely it is he gets there, but I would hate trading him for a Sabonis/J. Grant. I think those additions would do very little towards topping Miami/Brooklyn/Milwaukee/Philadelphia in the playoffs... Just making the playoffs and possibly getting to the 2nd-round would be a huge accomplishment. I think the offseason is a better time to guage trade interest and try to upgrade the team. We will be able to add some quality bigs once buyouts start happening, and I'm hoping for a Thaddeus Young reunion and think he would be a great fit on this team.
  2. It was a good thing that the Players Association rejected the request for a federal mediator, and I think the owners know that was a foolish move. Federal mediators accomplish very little in these heated, complex discussions and it usually doesn't help resolve any outstanding issues. It would just be a waste of time. I knew ST was going to get delayed and we're probably going to miss some games as well. One person I spoke to a few weeks back predicted a 100-game season and I said ~120-game season this year... we'll see.
  3. New year, same dirty little bitch. Someone needs to take one for the team and just cold [expletive] him. Yeah, he's definitely a dirty player and a little bitch... This goes back to his days at Duke too, so it's nothing new. The dirty play for anyone that missed it: I'm not upset we lost tonight's game and I think we win this game at full-strength.
  4. "Those w/ poor grades will be demoted to minors" Man, I would pay good money for plane tickets + travel costs just to go to any minor league baseball game after an MLB ump like Angel Hernandez got demoted for being shitty at their job. I wish we did this, at least until an automated strike zone is in place.
  5. Zach LaVine is out of health and safety protocols and said he feels great. The roster is mostly healthy now and we only played a few games while our best players were out. I have no idea how big an impact Billy Donovan missing a few games will have on the team. I think he's a pretty solid coach and he probably will get some Coach of the Year votes... Bulls players seem to like playing for him and he doesn't wear down players by playing them heavy minutes like Thibs. I know nothing about assistant coach Chris Fleming.
  6. I was going to the game tomorrow (or rather today now) and I wasn't looking forward to watching a depleted Bulls team lose again...
  7. We'll see, looks good putting up some shots here. Obviously being able to shoot in a controlled setting and ramping up to game condition are wildly different states. I do worry about him re-aggravating his injury with his style of play. Good. I hate the Heat and this should be a winnable game even with all the injuries/missing players.
  8. Ugh, the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft sucks and you rarely find an MLB player/prospect... I was told if the lockout persists pretty late into February/March they probably skip the MLB portion of the Rule 5 draft altogether and it will just return next year.
  9. https://twitter.com/KCJHoop/status/1454808477117952002' Pretty happy with the performance of the Bulls thus far. I'm thinking maybe we should run the offense through Vucevic more often (he's a surprisingly good passer) to get him going. He's better than his stats and his FG% is way too low right now and I know it'll pick up... It's just this Bulls team doesn't approach its ceiling if Vucevic isn't playing close to his All-Star level. Yeah, the Patrick Williams injury sucks, but the impact is pretty minimal short-term. If we get Vucevic going I think our offensive rating starts approaching elite levels (it's currently 10th right ahead of GS).
  10. Yup, great performance from LaVine and they needed it.
  11. Didn't watch the game, but I was following it on my phone. It seems like the calls on balls/strikes was truly terrible tonight, and the poor job by umps this postseason is going to lead to a greater demand for an automated strike zone... The pitch (Eovaldi curveball) that Jeff Passan mentions in the tweet above. It looks pretty close and I initially thought it was outside, but the angle behind home plate shows that it did cross over the plate and should have been a strike:
  12. --- That was pretty bad and you rarely see it lol
  13. We should start this thread with the new Bulls season starting on Wednesday (with what should be a pretty easy W against Detroit). I like these 2 predictions a lot: 'Zach LaVine will make third-team All-NBA' and 'Artūras Karnišovas will draw plenty of Executive of the Year votes'. Not sure about LaVine making third-team All-NBA because it's just so freaking hard making those teams and being considered a Top-6 guard. I do think Karnisovas earns plenty of votes for the Executive of the Year Award and maybe wins it if the Bulls finish top-4 in the Eastern Conference. He's done a fantastic job running the Bulls and turning it into a viable playoff team. Not great news that this is taking so long... I thought the investigation would conclude by the end of the offseason.
  14. Wasn't a full swing and everyone watching knows it... good job MLB. https://rotowear.com/products/clueless-blue-shirt
