  1. There goes Cole Wilcox and I don't know if he's signable...
  2. Man, the Dodgers grabbed two very talented college pitchers in Bobby Miller and Clayton Beeter. Really playing to the strength of this draft.
  3. Time to break out the middle initial lol (I'm assuming that's different).
  4. There goes Landon Knack. He's the best senior prospect in the draft and was a chance to get a talented player at a heavy discount. Amazing control and the stuff has improved.
  5. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]Good pick. I mentioned him as one of the college pitchers I hope the Cubs target today. Very talented LHP, but it seems like all the experts think he's just a reliever.
  6. [tweet] [/tweet]I like Dillon Dingler, but I don't know if we're targeting him in round 2. Some scouts thought he overtakes Patrick Bailey for title of best C in the draft in a normal spring. Great tools for a catcher. Not a fan of Blaze Jordan.
  7. So, Day 2 is about to start pretty soon. A bunch of talented HS arms and bats that I like are still available. I'm not that high on that many college bats at this point... Honestly, I think some of the college bats taken yesterday suck and won't end up being impact players. Some talented college pitchers and I wonder if some team tries taking Cole Wilcox in the 2nd round. Maybe Baltimore? I said I think the Cubs probably only take one HS prospect yesterday, but now that they took one in the 1st round I think there is a chance they take two now. They like to take at least one lower-ranked HS pitcher, but we have a new scouting director so who knows if that continues.
  8. I haven't listened to this one. I plan on getting around to it later.
  9. He was the top ss in the draft but why did he fall to #16? Well, a few factors are probably involved... Maybe bonus demands and wanting full slot, no spring ball or recent looks from scouts, good tools but not elite, Keith Law mentioned something about a shoulder injury or some scouts being concerned about his throwing shoulder (I think he's completely healthy now). Again, I think he's completely healthy now. Howard is a very good SS prospect, but he's not in the same company as Bobby Witt Jr and CJ Abrams -- the top two SS prospects from last year's draft. Also, it's a very talented draft class so he probably goes higher in another year.
  10. Not happy about this... Dodgers always draft well and have a great player development department. Incredible arm and he's from Illinois and is also a huge Cubs fan. I pray we don't regret passing on him.
  11. I'm glad you had the chance to see him. I tried asking you about Ed Howard a while back, but you never responded or got back to me lol. I was planning on going to a game and seeing him in-person before coronavirus messed up everything.
  12. WTH? We took Ed Howard because he's a very talented SS; not because he's Black lol. Theo is very smart and dedicated to social justice movements and on the right side on these issues... I just think people are giving him way too much credit for this draft pick and reading too much into it.
  13. I'm glad we're converting a bunch of Sox fans into Cubs fans tonight.
  14. WHOA... WHAT?!? I like this kid (Nick Yorke) and I was going to mention him to Raisin as a possible guy to take in the later rounds in a normal draft, but he hurt his shoulder or his arm and scouts didn't get to see him at SS. The swing is awesome though. I don't think he sticks at SS.
  15. [tweet] [/tweet]Interesting. I like Ed Howard and the local media will be thrilled.
  16. Excellent news. The players I like now or how I have it: HS bat: Tyler Soderstrom HS pitcher: Mick Abel College pitcher: Bobby Miller College hitter: Garrett Mitchell I have it Soderstrom, Abel, Miller and then Mitchell in my rankings. Miller and Mitchell are very close for me and if you think you can improve his swing, then I'm fine with taking Mitchell after Abel and Soderstrom.
  17. Soderstrom or Mitchell at 16 hopefully Yeah, we'll see. I'm much higher on Soderstrom than Mitchell. I don't like that demographic (HS catchers), but his bat is really special. I've been on him since last year...
