    I didn’t know Chip Carrey was the Cardinals announcer. I also thinks it’s hilarious the play by play guy said Mikolas hit him the “right way”. Such a pretentious organization all around.

    Looking at the list of 1b, I don't think there's any 100ish wRC 1b available. I'd rather just DFA Mancini and give Mervis a chance but unfortunately that's not happening.

    That trade is the equivalent of playing Tauchman at CF and moving Belli to 1st.

    That trade wouldn't even improve the Cubs

    It's more difficult because if you hold onto Belli and trade Stroman you're not picking a single lane. You have to find enough value to improve the team while trading away your best starting pitcher. Yeah it's possible but it's going to be more difficult to improve the team for 2023 by trading Stroman. But I'm fine with that outcome if it means the team improves for 2024 and beyond.

    This is along the lines of what I would like to see happen but it is also the most difficult scenario to pull off.

    The White Sox just beat the Braves 2/3 2 weeks ago. I'm not saying it's a likely outcome the Cubs would beat the Braves or Dodgers but anything could happen in a short series.

    The QO attached to Bellinger also may lessen his market a bit and make it easier to extend him in the offseason if they choose to do so. Stroman is likely to be gone next year whether he is traded or not. You get nothing if he stays.
