    Then when a player announces they sign with another team there's a bunch of accounts that have been around for years but only have 5 posts or freshly new made accounts that come in to bitch about how the Cubs were never serious and only did this for attention.

    My theory is if the Cubs get Ohtani they are trading for Glasnow. If they don't get Ohtani they will pivot to signing Yamamoto and using those trade pieces on a bat instead of Glasnow. The fact that they are still being connected to Glasnow makes me believe they're still in on Ohtani.

    Rosenthal mentioned the Cubs were still involved in the article he wrote about the Jays meeting. Nobody really knows anything, it's all just guessing and opinions.

    Sources: Suzuki - Wade Ohtani - Lebron Yamamoto - Bosh They're forming the Japanese big 3 in Chicago with an opt out in 2026 to coincide with Seiya's contract. Seiya has been recruiting since the baseball classic (Yes I know he was injured but they still held his jersey up when they won so he was there in spirit).

    The top guys always holds all the cards because it’s every others agents best interest for their client. Yamamoto’s agent wants the Cubs and Giants to be involved if he signs with the Dodgers. Boras wants the Cubs and Giants in on Berlinger if they miss out. There’s potentially 4-5 teams that were willing to spend 500+ million dollars on one player and agents know this.

    I assure you the Cubs and 3 other finalists have a plan in place if he doesn’t sign with them. This is why you hear rumors of the Cubs being involved with Glassnow and Yamamoto. They won’t get moved until Ohtani signs. That’s how this works with the top guy. That’s how it always works with the top guy. Teams and agents wait because it’s in their best interest. I didn’t mean to imply that you were specifically calling him weird and indecisive but there are certainly a lot of people that are.

    I guess I've lost track of who has said what. I can see tha perspective but it's odd to me that people are calling Ohtani some kinda undecisive weirdo who can't make a decision when this literally happens every year.

    Players signed record contracts in past years as well. It's a record contract until it's not. This literally happens every year and will happen again next year with Soto.

    Correct, which is why we shouldn't listen to random people on the internet. It's clear nobody knows. It'll be announced when it's announced. And him holding up the rest of the FA market literally happens every year with the top FA in the class. Teams and agents will wait.
