    Blue Jays GM said any add they do from this point on will likely be via trade ( FWIW . As long as the Cubs offer is the highest on AAV , they have a chance here . It could take about one more week of waiting , but I think they have a chance . All this I want 6 years talk , could be Boras trying to get the Cubs to meet in between ( 5 years ) I don’t think the Cubs will go 5 , but even at 4 / 120 it could get done .

    Yeah , Keegan will also be DFA at some point as well , probably at the end of spring training , if there aren’t any injuries

    My guess is Zastrynsny gets DFA and in terms of the 26 man roster , if no injuries , Merryweather and Asad are in danger

    Yeah , as soon as he got DFA , I knew they weren’t getting Robertson . Robertson will get 10-12 . Brasier I believe comes at 4.5

    Yeah , I think there is a good chance they trade for Brasier and forget about Robertson . If they do that , then 1 of Merryweather / Asad isn’t making the opening day roster ( if no injuries ).

    Jesse Rogers just said that from what he has been told , there is no match with the Padres unless Shaw is involved fwiw . I still think the Cubs match up well with Cassie / Wicks / 3rd piece .

    Cubs match up well with the Padres . They have an OF ( Casssie ) that probably would step in right away for them and SP ( Asssad , Wicks ) to replace Cease and a good enough system to give them an interesting 3rd piece ( if needed ) . With that said , after trading away Smith , would Hoyer be willing to trade another top 100 for a 1 year guy ?

    In a scenario Where they sign Bregman and trade Nico , the net gain for the team is what they get for Nico most likely . I dont think it will come into play , as the Cubs arent signing him anyway .

    If he says yes , i would like to see the Cubs double down with Robertson as well . With that said i am not sure they can fit him in : Pressly , Hodge , Morgan , Merryweather , Pearson , Miller / Thielbar / Rea I dont think they are cutting Merryweather , so the only way i could see Robertson is if Assad and Brown start in AAA , and they use a piggy of Rea / Pearson for the 5th spot .
