  1. Here's the thing... McCourty is 5'11 190 and Chung is 5'11 210. So I don't think his size is an issue for the Pats. The character issue is a HUGE concern, but it seems like he's owning up to it. If it's true and genuine, then I would take that chance on him, esp in late 1st. Yeah I would've gone after Barron over Jenkins as I think S is a slightly bigger need than CB (although both are BIG needs for the Pats along with a couple other positions, but the secondary really stands out. Gilmore was another guy I was "hoping" he would fall.
  2. 5'10" 193 at the combine... I see the character issues making him fall to the 2nd, but he's not THAT short. It'll hurt him with some of the tall WRs, but he's so good at coverage that I don't think it'll affect him that much. Basically... If Jenkins didn't have those character issues, he would AHEAD of Claiborne IMO.
  3. Patriots will select... Janoris Jenkins. http://cbsboston.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/janoris-jenkins.jpg?w=300 He got some big issues, but Pats REALLY need help in the secondary. He got way too much talent to pass up here.
  4. Up 4 with 3 to go...
  5. Seriously. I was certain his NFL career was over. Must be that delicious 41.8 QB Rating he turned in last year. He's up there with Jonathan Quinn and Henry Burris as worst QBs to ever wear a Bears uniform. Cade McNown says hi Does nobody remembers Rick Mirer in '97? Man... talk about ugly. He makes Hanie look like a HoFer. Then you have the immortal Todd Collins with his 5.9 QB rating in the 2 games he played for the Bears and won a game in his only start.
  6. I could see Browns being dumb enough to trade their 2nd- 1st rounder (#22) for Forte... Although If Bears get a 2nd rounder (it's not enough IMO), hopefully they'll be able to squeeze another pick (3rd or 4th this year). Browns might be willing to give up their 2nd and 3rd for Forte since they got 2- 1st... Doubt Pats would trade both their 2nds since they love to have as many picks as possible.
  7. Man... last year I was 31 for 32 (VCU)... then went 15 for 16 (VCU)... and I thought I would dominate in my pool. Then went 1 for 8 and 0 for 4... Haha
  8. Doesn't matter... Didn't Marshall one year cut his hand badly when he fell into his TV or broke his hand somehow before the season started? I wanna say it was 2008 cuz it was a year he was with Cutler still. He still caught 100+ balls that year with a messed up hand. EDIT: I guess it was his forearm that was all messed up that year, but he did said that his hand was numb all season long...
  9. It's been a good day for the bears, but I'm not excited about this. Hopefully the guaranteed money isn't too high. I guess they wanna get rid of that franchise tag and lower the cap hit so they can free up some more money for FAs. I feel the same way. It'll depend on what the extension is for.
  10. Holy crap... I didn't see that. Add him to my list of guys I would take over Adams. I've now seen a couple mock drafts where Jonathan Martin is NOT picked in the 1st round. Interesting... Heck I've seen a mock draft where Ingram was picked in the 2nd round and another where Luke Kuechly almost made it to Bears 2nd round pick. I got a laugh out of those...
  11. I rather have DeCastro than Adams... DeCastro is legit. I can see him being the next Hutchinson. Others I would take over Adams: Cox/Perry/Wright/Glenn/Konz and probably Hill
  12. So how much does the offer have to be in order for Steelers to not be able to match it? Just curious... Here's the thing... Prince Amukamara was the 19th pick last year. His contract is for 4 years, 8.18 mil. Bears will have to sign Mike Wallace to a much bigger contract than that. Granted, Wallace is a great and young WR, but is it worth getting him and losing that pick? It'll depend on the contract Wallace would get.
  13. Weak..... I got an autograph Daniel Garibay/Jerry Spradlin/Ruben Quevedo ball. Talk about bringing back some memories...
  14. I'll do the Pats again... and I'll take the Browns as well if there isn't a Browns fan on here.
  15. Luck just ran a 4.59 which is pretty damn good in the QB world. Newton ran a 4.56. FWIW, Luck also outjumped RG3. That's impressive as RG3 could have potentially been an Olympian in the 200 & 400 hurdles. RG3 could've beat Luck if he wanted to. He just basically stood there and jump and got 10'. He barely bend his knees at all in the broad jump.
  16. I agree... Plus he can be the mentor to the 1st round WR. Offer him a 2 yr deal and see if he'll take it cuz I'm not sure if anybody will offer him 3 yrs or more. Wayne/1st round WR is still like 25x better than what Cutler had last year...
  17. I believe Paea has the record for a drafted player. I've heard 51, but he went undrafted so it's not a record or that they don't count it. Still if a guy did 51 at the combine, you would think they would make that the record instead of the 49 that Paea put up last year... It was Justin Ernest back in 1999 btw who did this...
  18. Still hoping Stevie Johnson doesn't get tagged, but he'll still get paid since it looks like Colston is the only one who won't be tagged and someove will overpay for 2nd best WR in FA cuz they missed out on Colston...
  19. I think everyone kinda wonders what the Celtics would be like in the early 90s if Len Bias didn't literally party his life away. Or if Reggie Lewis didn't have that heart defect although that was getting into mid 90s when that happened...
  20. Doesn't really matter on that list cuz nobody made that list from 1961-1989 (3 pts happened in that time frame)... So it's like half and half on that list.
  21. Was there ever a more high volume shooter that made fewer shots than Antoine Walker? I mean, dude shot 39% for the season. Here you go... http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&type=per_game&per_minute_base=36&lg_id=NBA&is_playoffs=N&year_min=1947&year_max=2012&franch_id=&season_start=1&season_end=-1&age_min=0&age_max=99&height_min=0&height_max=99&birth_country_is=Y&birth_country=&is_active=&is_hof=&is_as=&as_comp=gt&as_val=0&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&qual=&c1stat=fga_per_g&c1comp=gt&c1val=20&c2stat=fg_pct&c2comp=lt&c2val=.40&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&c5stat=&c5comp=gt&c6mult=1.0&c6stat=&order_by=fg_pct&order_by_asc=Y That should give you the list of guys who had more than 20 attempts/game and shot less then 40%... Only happened 18 times in NBA history and Walker is 14th on that list (unless you bump it up to 1980-now, then he's 4th...) Joe Fulks is the winner though. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/f/fulksjo01.html
  22. Charlie Campbell's mock has Bears taking Michael Floyd, Coby Fleener, Philip Blake, Brandon Taylor, Keenan Robinson in his 4 rounds...
  23. LOL... Every time someone say something about Gary, I think of this: http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/408902_984099370393_58217829_38644561_1295420271_n.jpg
  24. It's going to take about 4 years of minor league ball to accumulate that amount of ab's. Not that, that quote is the absolute rule or truth on Soler, but to expect him in the big leagues as earlier as 2013 or 14 is probably an unrealistic expectation to have of the guy. Just so you know... Brett Jackson has played basically 2 1/2 seasons in the minors (53/128/115 games) and he has 1,133 ABs so far (211/491/431). Anthony Rizzo in his first 2 full seasons in the minors (2009/2010), he had 976 ABs (445/531) and then 356 ABs this past season (119/136/93 games). It won't take 4 years to get to 800-1,000 ABs. It'll take him 2 years to get there most likely (assuming he doesn't get hurt and he plays everyday). I think start of 2013 is unrealistic, but call up in Sept 2013 is somewhat possible (50/50 or less) and he could end up being a full time starter sometime in 2014 (whether that's at the start of the season or later). He'll be 21 and a few months by the start of 2014 season. If you go by what I said, he'll get like 400-500 ABs this year (start at A ball and end up at AA) then 400-500 ABs again in 2013 (starting at AA and a brief stint, lets say 100 ABs or so, in AAA)... By that time, a call up that Sept could happen. In 2014, he could start right away or he could be down in AAA for a little while to get more development/ABs (like B Jax/Rizzo are doing this year).
